“The haunting melodies and deep soulful emotions of Keshavacharya Das's kirtan brings me immediately to the ancient temple inside of my heart where the moods of longing and ecstasy dance together eternally at the feet of the Lord. I love his singing.”
WHAT IS KIRTAN?
Chanting is one of the best-kept secrets of Yoga; it increases vitality, soothes the soul, and deepens meditation. Kirtan is the beautiful call-and-response chanting of the yogic tradition. It is a joyful practice that calms the mind and opens and purifies the heart so that we may experience harmony and love with the Divine, the ultimate goal of Yoga.
Through singing these sacred chants (mantras) in community, we come together as one voice in an effortless flow of focused intention to savor the inner peace and bliss that is our true Self. Kirtan is a practice that cuts across all religious lines and levels of musical ability. Come see for yourself why kirtan has exploded in popularity in the West alongside yoga’s rise to fame! No prior experience required. Come and sing. Come and see. Or just come and be.

LIFE IS A SONG . . . SING IT!
"Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth,
"You owe me."
Look what happens
with a love like that ~
it lights the whole world."
~ Hafiz (c. 1320-1389)
Translated by Daniel Ladinsky
" I am a hole in a flute
that the Christ's breath moves through ... Listen to this music."
~ Hafiz (c.1320-1389) Translated by Daniel Ladinsky
" Love not anyone, not even God! Our picking & choosing love brings misery. Instead, let God love you. Be Love itself.”
~ Shri Swami Nirmalananda
" When I look inside & see that I'm nothing, that’s wisdom.
When I look outside & see that I’m everything, that’s love.
And between these two, my life turns."
~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
"Animals are God's creatures, not human property, nor utilities, nor resources, nor commodities, but precious beings in God's sight. ... Christians whose eyes are fixed on the awfulness of crucifixion are in a special position to understand the awfulness of innocent suffering. The Cross of Christ is God's absolute identification with the weak, the powerless, & the vulnerable, but most of all with unprotected, undefended, innocent suffering."
~ Rev. Andrew Linzey
"We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace." ~ Albert Schweitzer, The Philosophy of Civilization
"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the “universe,” a part limited in time & space. He experiences himself, his thoughts & feelings, as something separate from the rest — a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires & to affection for a few people near us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures & the whole of nature in its beauty."
~ Albert Einstein
"I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, & the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men."
~ Leonardo Da Vinci
"The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for white, or women created for men."
~ Alice Walker, The Color Purple
" Birdsong brings relief
to my longing.
I am just as ecstatic as they are,
But with nothing to say!
Please, universal soul, practice
some song, or something, through me!"
~ Rumi (1207-1273) Translated by Coleman Barks
"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."
~ Albert Einstein
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
~ Margaret Mead
"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little."
~ Edmund Burke
"Nobody is a fool & nobody is wise. It is the space which makes you foolish or wise. If you have space within your mind, then you become wise, & if you have no space in your mind, then you become 'otherwise'."
~ Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati, founder of >> Ananda Ashram in Monroe, NY, USA

The idea was initiated by a friend whom I visited in the hospital. She had asked me to play only the cymbal for her.
To give her the possibility to listen to the sound also when she is by herself, I recorded a sequence in our studio and experienced quite a pleasant and soothing effect.
The following morning I woke up with the vision that people all over the world use the sound as a positive anchor - irrespective of their taste in music, spiritual orientation and worldview.
It may be healing, peace, love, fulfillment, freedom a project, an aim or just breathing consciously, being present in the here and now... it may be simply a pure sound to have in the background...
Every 20 to 45 seconds (for about 30 minutes) you will hear the single sound of the cymbal as a gentle reminder of your real focus - the quality you would like to confirm, your contribution to the big pool, from the field of intention into reality.
What is your heart's desire? - for yourself, for others
Get the free download on "here & now" and spread the sound to the world!
THANK YOU FOR THE ADD! and for bringing your heart's intention into here and now!
Strange day. After watching a documentary about streakers suffering from over exposure, I took a nap. It was a short one. I woke up a midget. At first I was freaking out, jumping around, trying to reach the wall phone. It tired me out. So I sat on a foot stool and placed my face in my hands wondering why this had happened to me. In the middle of self-pitying I started noticing how much fun it was to kick and swing my feet. I was smiling again, and found myself running through the house at full speed... wrestling with my now giant puppy. Oh, the joy! I hadn't had so much fun in years! We laughed and played and laughed until we both fell asleep exhausted on the living room floor. Then I woke up and ruined the whole damned thing.
Hi Kamaniya, how are you? Hope everything is going well. You didn't hear from me in a while because I had a lot of important things to do at home. Have a great and rocking weekend! Your friend Doris
