    [thursday, february 12, 2009] and we're back! so sorry we completely forgot to wish you a happy new year - happy new year! - but we were a bit tied up in our first big exhibition at the antwerp fotomuseum in december and january. anyway, it was amazing! as was the opening night party with busy p, the guys from hot chip and quite a few of our belgian friends. thank you! thank you! thank you! big up as well to everyone who showed up for the exhibition (and party). you were equally wonderful. but we also have some good news for those of you who weren't able to come. see, we made a little book - a catalog, if you will - to accompany the exhibition. the book (which is not available in shops) contains 'the first one hundred' photos - old ones (erol, uffie, alex, james, dave) and new ones (moby, amon, laurent, goldie, felix). for a complete list of who's in it go to our website (or go to our myspace profile and click on 'go to website'). now for the good news: we saved a limited number of copies to be sold online. every copy is numbered and if you like we'll even sign it for you. think you can use one? then 'go to website'! mind you: this is NOT the definitive a&g book we're working on. it's a teaser - a taste. if you want to be kept informed about the definitive book and/or future exhibitions you can now also subscribe to a newsletter on our website. and don't worry: we're way too busy to be sending you an update every week so don't expect your mailbox to explode with e-mails from us. finally, we thought we'd also add some new photos to our myspace. so go click on 'view all pics' to see our new family members: LAURENT GARNIER, JOE NICE, MR. Who I'd like to meet:




for those who’ve only just discovered ourspace ... a small introduction! on a cold, cold night in january 2007 matt mogadishu (aka wouter van vaerenbergh) and johnny rome (aka ben van alboom) embarked on a mission. the plan was to take black & white photographs of electronic music artists for a book – to be published in the future. that plan hasn’t changed. but what started out as a see-what-happens-endeavor quickly turned into a right-let’s-cancel-our-holiday-plans-and-get-a-move-on-it kinda-thing. twenty months and two myspaces later we have already shot over three hundred musicians – stretching all six continents (not counting antarctica for obvious reasons) and several electronic genres. our objective has remained the same: in a highly digital world where every artist on any given club night gets photographed by hundreds of mobile phones with built-in cameras, we want to take them out of the clubs and place them in front of a vintage celluloid nikon camera - give them the same treatment as those jazz legends (who incidentally also started out in dark and sweaty clubs, infusing the world with sounds no-one had ever heard of). we'll probably continue working on the project for the next few years, posting a couple of new photographs on ourspace every once in a while to keep you up-to-date and give you a chance to tell us how we’re doing. then, once the book is finished, you’ll be the first to know! soon, matt & johnny



when possible – sometimes we’re just too busy running around and putting up lights – we try to take some photographs of what we do. just to give you an idea. also, it adds a little color to ourspace. :)
