Kameron Ross is a talented and passionate young man who strives to achieve his dream of becoming a great country singer. This eighteen year old works hard to follow in the foot steps of his role model, George Strait not only in the music industry, but agriculture, as well. When Kameron is not practicing or performing, he is busy with his studies maintaining good grades so he may graduate high school. However, this determined young man won’t stop there, because he plans to further his education at Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science and ultimately a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Music was not always Kameron’s passion instead he was more interested in learning about animals and cooking BBQ with the family. However, one life changing performance by Shania Twain at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo changed this eight year olds dream. The energy from the stage and roar of the crowd sparked the desire to sing and perform. Eventually, his hard work began to pay off when he earned a position in the Houston Boys Choir.
Once Kameron reached high school, he started to broadcast his talent to larger audiences by competing in various contest across Texas and through local events. A few of these were the Colgate Country Showdown, Showcase Texas, and the Best Country Singer in Houston. Some of his best known performances were at Sam Houston Race Park in the “Best Country Singer in Houston” contest sponsored by the “New 93Q” radio station and coordinated by Jerry Creed. Here he received praised from not only Jerry Creed and the judges, but was also approached and praised by Bryan Black. Most recently Kameron has performed at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Chili Cook off of 2007 for an audience of 20,000+ people.
In October of 2006, Kameron traveled to Nashville, Tennessee where he recorded his songs for his debut album, “When I’m Done Loving You” with the aid of T.G. Sheppard. The first four tracks on the album were produced by singer/songwriter, Kelly Lang. In December of 2006, Kameron began to write with singer/songwriter, Carl Ray, who is also producing the album. Together they wrote two of the album songs including “When I’m Done Loving You.”
Thanks to family, friends, and fans, Kameron Ross can now be heard on various radio stations, XM radio, and restaurants. His popularity is continuously growing across the United States especially in Texas. He is currently promoting his album, “When I’m Done Loving You” and writing new songs for his next release.
