From their inception as one of the crazy new punk bands to slowly crawl out of Southern Sydney, the Kamikazes were always due to crash and burn. Starting out playing a few locals shows from little to no publicity, the band some how managed to start a small cult following who became intrigued by the nature of this strange band with nothing but a care in the world but to fuck shit up no matter what the cost.
These live shows were always a strange affair...
A single guitarist with rainbow painted arms. Creating havoc. Kicking his singer in the chest while he's wailing away on the ground...
A 'singer' or should be say vocalist, who liked to wear sailor caps. Had an insane penchant for crashing into the drum kit. Smashed micro phones. And was generally a strange being...
A drummer well... just a drummer really, who liked to spray blood on his drumset and occasionally the audience from his battered hands.
After only a handful of these unhinged shows, the band fell apart in a crash and burn fashion. In fighting about nothing, egos getting in the way of egos and a general distaste and lack for creating any further 'music' pulled the band apart.
This site exists as something to document the nature of this band and to show a sample of the crusty DIY sounds they created through their limited recordings. As time goes by, more samples of the Kamikazes blend of rough noise may be unleashed but for now they are simply DEAD.
