Kani are born in summer 2007 by a Lispio (bass) and Pante (guitar)’s idea. After some months, they find the singer and the drummer: Joker and Cib. The four apocalypse dudes were ready. Fast, furious, dirty rock'n'roll is Kani-thinking. "We are like dogs on cocaine listen to Chuck Berry's r'n'r and old dear blues and drink a soup mixed with Motorhead, Nashville Pussy, Dead Kennedys, heavy music and play according to ironic punk attitude. And that watch also bareback pornomovies, of course". Kani's first demo is all this stuff. "We bite", a very fast hard-punk card; "Lost&shaken", pure heavy rock; "Too sexy for my pants", an hard'n'rude rock anthem; "Proud smoker", an autobiographic, fast'n'bluesy song dedicated to cigarettes' love (and not only cigarettes). And a Motorhead cover ("You better run"), retitled "You better drink" - that also is in an tribute album by italian Motorhead fan club. Many concerts in Italy in 2008 and 2009, included a mini-tour in Germany in August 2009 (recorded live in "From the gutter to your ears. Live in Cologne" with three tracks: Hair of the dog, Mister Death Rider, Joker is bad for you), make Kani one the most important italian bands in fast&loud rock'n'roll. In 2010 the release of their first album, "Rockabeast", for italian Nicotine Records, produced by Raptor Studio. Stay tuned for more rock'n'roll. And beware of Kani.

I Kani sono nati nell'estate 2007 da un'idea di Leonardo “Lispio” Langaro (basso) e Diego “Pante” Lovato (chitarra). Il nome, volutamente ironico, viene da un modo scherzoso del chitarrista di chiamare gli amici. Dopo qualche mese trovano il cantante e il batterista: Alessio “Joker” Mannino e Michele “Cib” Biscaro. Il primo anno di vera attività è il 2008, in cui "ci proviamo" su strada in Veneto e in qualche incursione nel Nord Italia, e produciamo il demo omonimo (composto da quattro tracce originali, We bite, Too sexy for my pants, Proud smoker e Lost&shaken, e da una cover dei Motorhead, You better run, ribattezzata You better drink, finita in una compilation di tributo alla band inglese con altri gruppi italiani, l’Italian Tribute to Motorhead). Nell’agosto 2009, grazie a un gruppo di Colonia che ci ha ascoltati sul nostro Myspace (www.myspace.com/kaniband), facciamo un mini-tour di 4 date in Germania (Colonia, Berlino) e in Olanda - tour da cui uscirà un mini-live, "From the gutter to your ears. Live in Cologne" (con tre tracce: Hair of the dog, Mister Death Rider, Joker is bad for you). Nel frattempo consolidiamo il nome dalle nostre parti macinando live su live (per dire: nell’underground locale le nostre magliette sono piuttosto diffuse) fino alla registrazione, fra dicembre 2009 e gennaio 2010, del primo full-lenght di 11 tracce, "Rockabeast" (che significa "rockabbestia", la nostra filosofia: un rocknroll estremo, viscerale, stradaiolo, che mette d’accordo metallari, punk e rockettari che amino i concerti d’impatto, ad alto volume). L’etichetta che ci distribuisce e ci promuove è la Nicotine Records di Tortona (Alessandria). A registrare, mixare e masterizzare è il Raptor Studio di Matteo "Ciube" Tabacco, bassista della band vicentina Dufresne. I riferimenti sono Motorhead, Peter Pan Speedrock e Nashville Pussy, le influenze spaziano dal rock'n'roll delle origini, anni '50, al punkrock e all'heavy metal fino al blues.
