About me: I am the Waddell and Reed Kansas City Marathon. Last year (2008) I had 8,000 runners participate. I am the "fastest growing marathon in the Unites States" according to Marathonguide.com. I am a scenic course that takes the runners across beautiful Kansas City displaying the popular historic fountains, Nelson-Atkins Art Gallery and Union Station to say the least.
I have been a fan of fighting childhood obesity for a long time and I am working with Children's Mercy Hospital to create another great turnout of the Kids' Fun Run.
I am a Full-Marathon, Half-Marathon, 5K, and a Team Relay. I encourage everyone to run even if you think you're out of shape.

Great job last yr w/ the postrace beer and refreshments....much better than Chicago. I'm off to PA for the Tussey 50 miler.....see you guys in 29 days.
Oh yeah, excited for the event. I am gathering a large team of brand new participants this year! They are all artists. After all, the race goes through their turf and ends at their doorstep! We are using the race as a fundraising tool for the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center. They'll add some color to the scene!
