beautiful landscapes, mother nature, positive vibrations, the sun, all the wrong things that this world suffers from, the good things this world thrives upon, watching the sun rise, watching it set, cloud formations, all the seasons, the dead of night, life passing by your windows as you drive for miles and miles, that special place inside, birth, death, all our positive emotions as well as our negative ones, our struggle to determine the 'meaning of life', the search for peace & nirvana, love, unity."

For the total development of the human being, solitude as a means of cultivating sensitivity becomes a necessity. One has to know what it means to be alone, what it is to meditate, what it is to die; and the implications of solitude, of meditation, of death, can be known only by seeking them out. These implications cannot be taught, they must be learnt. One can indicate, but learning by what is indicated is not the experiencing of solitude or meditation. To experience what is solitude and what is meditation, one must be in in a state of inquiry; only a mind that is in a state of inquiry is capable of learning. But when inquiry is suppressed by previous knowledge, or by the authority and experience of another, then learning becomes mere imitation, and imitation causes a human being to repeat what is learnt without experiencing it.

"We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true."
Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light. Give thanks for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. And if perchance you see no reason for giving thanks, rest assured the fault is in yourself.
~ Chief Tecumseh, Shawnee Indian Chief
Whether one is twenty, forty, sixty, or eighty; whether one has succeeded, failed or just muddled along - life begins each morning!
The greatest fact in life is that it is never too late to start again. Biography simply overflows with inspiring examples of this truth. However discouraging your days may have been, keep this thought burning brightly in your mind: life begins each morning!
Here is our dear Rattie! His name is Stryper! (no, not after the heavy metal band lol) Because he has a white stripe down his back all the way to his tail! Here he is on my shoulder, he likes perching high! He likes good things to eat. This morning I gave him a green grape and a cherry tomato - he seemed to be perplexed on which one to eat first! So he nibbled on both lol He cant have chocolate, but seems to know that if we like it so much - why dont we share it with him! When I pet him, he chitters and eyes bubble, so it appears, but really he is quite content and happy I am near!
Hug You!! Monika -
Ode to a Rat Always poking, always peeking, Climbing, jumping, sometimes squeaking, Twitching whiskers, cunning faces, Hiding in the strangest places! Nibbling here and napping there, Always finds the time to spare A fuzzy 'kiss' upon my cheek. Sometimes I wish that you could speak! Bright eyes shining full of love, A furry gift from up above. Always glad to have me near. Such a treasure! What a dear! Folks can have their cats and dogs, Horses, snakes, and even frogs. For me you stand out from the rest. No doubt about it- a RAT'S the best! - Janie
Missing you, hope you are enjoying summer! Been pretty busy here, including my teen with chicken pox, but I say better now thatn when school starts, she has healed and doing well! (Me too!) lol
Several years ago I discovered African Kitamu coffee and have enjoyed it ever since. I adore it's strong nutty flavor, and nearly cannot begin the day without the dear stuff! lol I especially enjoyed some today, and thought to stop by and say hello, and to wish you a great weekend!

A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent.
Thank you for your coffee, seigneur. I shall miss that when we leave Casablanca. - Ingrid Bergman
It was a pleasant cafe, warm and clean and friendly, and I hung up my old water-proof on the coat rack to dry and put my worn and weathered felt hat on the rack above the bench and ordered a cafe au latte. The waiter brought it and I took out a notebook from the pocket of the coat and a pencil and started to write. - Ernest Hemingway
