Who I am:
I was born in New Mexico, and raised all over the American South-west. Don't ask how I came to Seattle- It's a long story, and not one of the more interesting ones, either. but I've been in the Pacific Northwest for over 20 years, so I'm pretty close to a native, even if I still long for the desert. If you'd like to keep up with what I'm up to, I keep a blog, and even update it now and again!
My illustration & designs can be seen at Kaotiqua Creations and Kaotiqua Design, and also in a Deviant Art gallery which I'm trying to keep regularly updated- in fact, you might want to look there first for my newest and in-progress work.
Musically, I'm trying to get back to my bardic roots, getting to know current artists in the field, learning new material, relearning old Celtic & shanty material, which I'd fallen out of in recent years.
I'm also an avid wood & horn worker, though that's currently on hold pending getting my allergies under some kind of control again. (The dust generated is more than a simple mask can help with.) I design and create spiral beadwork, practice medicinal and folk herbalism, and medieval forms of calligraphy and illumination.
And before you go picturing me as some kinda' holistic tree-huggin' earthcookie, I also smoke a pack and a half a day, drink too much rum & dark beer, and not nearly enough water, and political correctness for it's own sake makes my skin crawl almost as much as melodrama, especially that which is media-induced. All in all, I am NOT usually a good one to "come cryin' to" in much of any situation. I'm generally a spikey, private curmudgeoness, though I do enjoy some sparkly, colorful things. So do swamp rats. (I secretly wish I were much more of a girly girl, but I just can't pull off the giggley parts, and my unexpected quills and spikes tend to gore those who try to peek in the closet where I keep my mushy crap.)
I tango. I'd say "I used to tango", as my partner shattered his foot rather badly so I haven't in years, but I've learned this: Once you have tango'd, you will ALWAYS tango. At least, it's so with Argentine.
My Latest Toy: Polyvore
How could I fail to love this little gadget? It's coloring, scrapbooking, paperdolls, and collage all rolled into one colorful, expansive, expressive gadget, combined with a site and community all it's own.
Here's what I did right off the bat with the thing...
You tread in the footsteps of
souls who have come before, and lay a path for all those who have yet to find their way.
Kaotiqua is existing in a state of deep, perpetual maladjustment. But peeking out into the light after nearly a year. Posted at 4:40 PM May 11 view more
I'm rebuilding the player with original music and will return it here soon. Until then, here are some links to other music projects of mine:
I did a series of deep mixes for a role-playing series, concerning events surrounding a magical opera composed in ancient Sumerian. (I'll soon have that music posted on the Seratum Ebih site.) If you're curious about the project, you can read more about it
Just swinging by to say hello (since i have not seen you since crown) and thank you much for joining my Seattle gamers group. Hope to hear from you soon.
BTW that earthcookie comment made me shoot red bull out of my nose... thanks for that *lol*
