One of the great frustrations in my life is I have too many interests. There are so many things that I would like to do, learn about, or try that I know I will probably never get around to them all!!
They range from basic things like learning the guitar, hiking/camping, paintball and building models to things a little more extreme like building a boat, designing and constructing my own home, skydiving with a glider suit, to the mundane like reading all the books in my mini-library. I've found myself single once again, so this time around I'm looking to round out my life more, and try things I was too bland to try when I was younger.
Music
These days I have been listening to more and more rock, but I enjoy selections from a WIDE variety of music, including oldies, classical, some hip-hop/R&B, and a tiny bit of country. It's a good thing Itunes makes it easy to listen to anything/anytime. :)
Movies
If I could choose any profession, I would be a movie director. Unfortunately, since I didn't focus in that area when I was younger I'll just have to settle for -watching- movies now... I try to watch movies in every genre, but my all time favorites are:
Brotherhood of the Wolf,
The Matrix,
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,
House of Flying Daggers,
Star Wars (original trilogy),
The Man who Shot Liberty Vallance,
The Black Book,
Rebel Without a Cause
and BEOWULF!!!!!! (love the moral...Doesn't matter how manly you are, even the greatest of heroes are foolish when it comes to beautiful women!)
Television
I try not to watch too much TV, but the few shows I really enjoy are: Lost, Fringe, and the Terminator Series. Big Bang Theory is usually pretty good too.
Books
I love books, but it seems I rarely have time to read anymore! I've been -making- time recently.. Here are the last few I've read:
"Perfume:The Story of a Murderer" by Patrick Suskind. It was a highly entertaining, darkly humorous, somewhat disturbing novel that was recently made into a rather good (and bit uncomfortable) independent film. I'd definitely recommend it.
Just finished reading a translation of "Beowulf" A rather hard read, but still quite good. It's the oldest known recorded fiction.
Just finished "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells last week. Awesome book, especially when you consider it was written in the 1880s!
This morning I finished "I am Legend" It was quite a bit different than both movies, but another great (but sad) book.
Heroes
...Yeah, it's a pretty good show. Season 2 was vastly superior to season 1.
Whats up man!! When is that dam movie coming out???? T2??? I saw some previews, cant wait, there better be some cool new character and action scenes!! later Kev
