   About kara kulpa
Kara Kulpa is quickly making a name for herself in the Midwest folk circuit. Since the release of her demo EP, Any Given Day, in May of 2005, she has toured Midwest and East Coast as a solo act as well as in conjunction with various other artists. During the Spring of 2006, along a road which spanned from Boston to New Orleans, she collected a batch of live songs and self-produced a live mix, entitled Incomplete. Along with these, Kulpa can be found violining, mandolining and singing on a slew of records by artists including Shelley Miller, Amanda Sena and Dave Golden.

From Eddie’s Attic to Tulane University, audience members have commented on Kulpa’s level of enthusiasm and charisma during performances. House of Abundant Kindness House Concert Series said, “Kara Kulpa has a charm and personality that make you want to be her best friend…” She’s also received critical acclaim for her seamless mastery of instruments. Segment of Society Productions called her, “…a master on the fiddle, mandolin and guitar.” Kulpa has shown up at festivals around the country, including the 2007 and 2006 National Women’s Music Festivals, the 2006 Dewey Beach Americana Festival, the 2006 and 2005 Midpoint Music Festivals, the 2005 Midwest Music Summit and the 2005 Cutting Edge Music Business Conference and, along with performing solo, Kulpa regularly supports an eclectic list of acts on several instruments ranging from the violin to tambourine.

Currently, Kulpa plans to use 2007 and part of 2008 to take a brief break from the road and save up funds to record her next studio album with esteemed producer and colleague, Dave Golden. Fans can still expect to see her pop her head out a few times, though, for weekend shows around the Midwest and as a special guest to artists including Kara Barnard, Nicole Reynolds and Dave Golden.

Are you rolling back this way for summer? Would love to work up a set with you and/or Ginger Blue.

Lemme know what your plans are.

Just "hey"

Patti G. popped up in my Pandora player today (which always reminds me of the time you said you and some friends spent a whole eve just playing her songs). Thought I'd drop a note and ask what's up w/u. Ginger Blue working on things? My New Year's res is to be more pro-active on my cello adventure - writing something now. Would be nice to add you in if you have a trip planned to the northern plains - let me know.

Hey Kara,

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed what I heard at UG last week. Love the sound of Ginger Blue! I'm just so sorry I had to leave before it was over - my apologies to Violet and Shelley, as well. Come back soon - I miss that beautiful sound of yours and this was the first time I really got to hear you work that violin. Wow - wish you were still around the area - would love to have you play on some things I've written.

Safe journey - keep me posted.

peace,
m
