Very few bands have an ability to successfully embrace the influences of their youth and create a sonic landscape that is uniquely their own. That is exactly what Karasoul has done, the EP titled NEVER GROW OLD feels familiar and comfortable without coming off as a cheap dime store copy of a better album or band.
From the opening wall of sound in EMERGENCY to the last soulful notes of GRAVITY, Karasoul takes listeners on a journey that can clearly be enjoyed by an individual sitting alone in a room or an arena full of music fans.
Others have called Karasoul "Brit Pop without the accent." I prefer to call it an honest return to Progressive Alternative.

Driving, Ambient, Flavorful, Contemplative, Gushing...just a few words to describe Karasoul's sounds. For these guys it is all about the live show and taking it past the songs straight to the music. Formed in 2005 by Forrest Detwiler, Shaun Combs, and Jeff Baker this band carries a huge sound and sweet takes on some classic songs like Come Together and Superstious, not to mention their own music that is comparable to Coldplay, DMB, Aqualung, Five for Fighting, and The Fray. Detwiler's smooth but edgy baritone vocal washes over you like warm water, while Baker's groove keeps your heart beat and the electric guitar's schitzo moments keep you wanting more. Karasoul is a must see band in 2008 and a must listen for every ipod.

Now that the EP has been released make sure to pick it up at a show. Unless you like staying at home or you live far, far away. In that case listen to and download it from our online store, and remember, make sure to tell all of your friends, family, and everyone you know how much you love Karasoul.
So, Zack and I heard a song on the radio (90.5 Spirit FM) and he turned to me all excited and asked, "is that Woody?". I laughed because it did sound almost identical to you. I told him no and he accused them of stealing your sound and tone. I have no idea who the band was or what song it was, but he was right, it sounded just like Karasoul. Anyway, I see the NYC trip is still on the schedule. How is that working out?
