Geoff Farina, guitarist and singer for Karate, spends most of his time away from the band working with his long-time collaborator Jodi Buonanno on their studio/living space at the Naragansett Grange Hall in Rhode Island. Geoff spends his spare time playing with drum machines & fixing his array of broken amplifiers.

Baltimore native Gavin McCarthy, has played drums with Karate since their inception in 1993. Like Geoff, Gavin is also a graduate of Berklee College of Music and plays jazz and improvised music with many musicians in Boston and has played with Rosa Chance Well, the Secret Stars and the Swirlies.

Jeff Goddard has played bass with Geoff and Gavin since 1995 and studied bass and trumpet at Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory, but soon left to pursue a career as one of Boston's most hired guns. I just remember listing to small fires on the way to work in a small shop in a little town thinking their just has to be a better way so i closed myself off and sang the song to myself to get through the day . It worked and I looked at all the rednecks I worked with thinking if you come closer I will kick your fucken ass witch I would, but thats another matter. The only thing that makes me sad is that when i hear that song I think of those times and I love that song
Small Fires was the perfect soundtrack of one of best moments of my life. It makes me cry and smile at the same time now, thanks for the emotions. They are priceless.
