Ever once in a lifetime something happens that defines a moment in history. On October 10, 1987 a superstar was born, Rovell "KardieRokk" Clarke . Growing up he was influenced by Gospel, Rock, and everything in between. Listening to Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, Beatles, and many more helped shape what would become a “Musical Genius”.
At the age of 7 Kardie-Rokk would start to bloom musically. He was asked to sing a solo in church. The feeling of the stage was electrifying to him. He started sing and performing everywhere he went. His vibrant personality attracted the attention from his peers, along with his million dollar smile, singing, and freestyle rapping. It was apparent people loved him, they even gave him the nick-name, “Mr. Extraordinary”.
Kardie-Rokk determined to pursue his dream of being a Superstar. He began working with several local production companies and landed his first song on the radio. The single “Pimp Clap”, went to number in the island. This only drove him to work harder to make a move to the U.S. He began to write and produce adding more talent to his already growing arsenal. His many struggles didn’t stop him from working. Once in the U.S, there was no looking back.
Today Kardie-Rokk’s passion for music and entertainment can be felt in his songs. With over 10.5 million+ views and 10.5 millon+ plays in just a few short months. He is hardly at work on his highly anticipated Mixtape hitting the streets, as well as, his debut album “One/Kardie.A High”. His hard work is starting to pay off. There’s a few words to describe him “Simply gifted,
focused and Amazing”.
When asked what defines who you are as an artist and what makes you unique?
Kardie-Rokk answers:
I am an artist that everyone can listen to. And as an artist, I have always been able to write songs that can be listened to from beginning to end which in return will place the listener in an imaginative state. I have always wanted to create music that would be heard by the masses and make a person say “that's the greatest track I've ever heard, lyrically and conceptually.” Music for many can be as intoxicating as any drug. I've always wanted to be that drug to my fans and listeners. I've always wanted my fans to feel like they're apart of the music not only because they are but because it's what makes their day, it’s what makes them smile and makes them feel good about themselves in their times of need. That's what I'm about, drawing people in and holding them in that state of euphoria. That's what makes me different, that’s what makes me stand out from other artists.
