Update
First things first, I have not yet taken my licensing exam. Nor have I sent in the paperwork for it. I am expecting to get my diploma this week and then I can apply to take the test. Then I can hopefully schedule it quickly and after the small matter of passing said exam I can start trying to get a license from the state. Anyone thinking about going into a licensed profession be warned: it's a major pain in the ass.
Since it looks like I won't be getting a massage job anytime soon and I need income I have been applying at Starbucks. Yes, you read that right. I quit my job, moved away from home, went back to school, and am now looking for the same type of job I had back in Urbana. Sometimes when I'm feeling low I wonder why I bothered. But then I snap the fuck out of it and remember that I love massage and bodywork. And coffee.
On the plus side, I am taking a table Thai class starting Oct 7th at the home of one of my former teachers. I am incredibly excited about that. I think that The Guy is too, since I'll need someone to practice on. So I guess my closing remark would be this: don't try to be a massage therapist unless you really feel a calling for it, but most certainly date one!
