Interests

  • General

My interests are wide and vary from graphic and web design to photography (film and digital), eBay, .. message boards, true crime, fictitious crime, John Grisham books, crime tv shows (24, Columbo, Matlock, and CSI Las Vegas top my list).

I have eclectic interests ranging from a feng shui style of decorating (but not the philosophy! LOL) to traditional decorating...to Impressionistic and Romantic art....to classic literature and some popular fiction...children's stories and off the wall grown up stuff...natural foods, junk foods....ice cream and coffee. And Dr Pepper.

I believe in variety - nobody would call me boring!

  • Music

Big Band/Swing; Classical; Modern Praise and Worship (but not too much Contemporary Christian music...I find it lacking) old fashioned hymns, Twila Paris, Keith Green, Rich Mullins; Mannheim Steamroller, Johnny Cash, oldies do-wop, old country and western...Nat King Cole, some jazz....I like a LOT of different styles. Right now my favorite music is traditional Celtic/Gaelic styles.
  • Movies

I dislike movies with graphic sex and bad language. It's stupid. I find I enjoy older movies more because many of them relied on sharp, witty dialogue.

I'm a Star Wars/Indiana Jones fan, as well as a James Bond Junkie. My favorite movies involve actors I enjoy: (Sean Connery, Johnny Depp, Antonio Banderes, Pierce Brosnan, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Bill Murray, Robin Williams; plus almost every classic actor you can think of except Rock Hudson)

My favorite actress is Sandra Bullock; I think she's adorable....there are many more classic actresses I enjoy, including Bette Davis, Joan Fontaine, Olivia DeHavilland, Vivien Leigh... I do like those inane "Chick Flicks" just for the fun of it. Mostly, though, I go for psychological thrillers/mysteries/crime dramas.

  • Television

I used to be a big fan of 24, and maybe the new season will reinstate my love for it (I heard rumors that My Tony will be coming back; we'll see...)For the most part, I watch only House, CSI Las Vegas, and Forensic Files. Also, old TV shows rule!!! I am acquiring Columbo, Little House in the Prairie, Wonder Woman, and The Waltons on DVD. We have collected over the past few years all the Twilight Zone episodes...my husband and I enjoy the morals to those stories. I like crime dramas...Columbo has always been my favorite sleuth. But much of what I watched as a kid (some were already in syndication)...M*A*S*H*, Quincy, The Odd Couple, Matlock, Emergency!, CHiPs, etc are the ones I'd like to see.
  • Books

Three favorite: Rebecca, Gone with the Wind, To Kill A Mockingbird, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn; Huckleberry Finn; Tom Sawyer, Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie, A Time To Kill, The Testament...oh, wait, that's more than three. Suffice it to say I love books, love love love them!
  • Heroes

Ranging from the real to the fabled. My heroes are those who stood/stand up for what they believed or for the oppressed (or both)

Abraham Lincoln; William Jennings Bryan; (he was willing to become a fool to stand up for what he believed in.) Rosa Parks; Harriet Tubman (I have never had any tolerance for any kind of racism); our soldiers, police officers, and firefighters daily putting their lives in jeopardy for ours.

Fabled: David Palmer (now deceased, from 24 - the only man fit to be President! Honest, caring...noble. And now he's dead. :-( ...), Columbo (always gets the bad guy even if it won't hold up in court), Wonder Woman...well, hey. She's pretty cool!! The Bionic Woman...she's cool too and dressed more modestly. ha ha. Andy Taylor - down home innocent happy life...who wouldn't want an Andy Taylor as a neighbor?.

About me:

I was born in New Jersey, and adopted when I was about two. I grew up in rural northeastern PA and had a typical childhood, filled with typical dysfunction at home and school. Never very popular, I didn't blossom into "me" until sometime in my twenties.

Currently, I am a REALTOR® (not just a real estate agent!) and love my job! I work out of WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Paupack Group in Hawley PA.

I am a believer in Jesus, I try to honor the Bible He's given us for our light and inspiration. Sadly, many times I fail miserably and need to rely totally on His grace and forgiveness - I'm fully aware of my failings and trust that "He Who began this good work will be faithful to complete it."
I do not believe in being preachy or acting like I'm better than anyone else.

As a professional real estate agent, I strive to cultivate a relationship with my clients based on mutual trust and respect. I work hard for my clients and in their best interest.
