My Storm
I'm in a whirlwind spinning with no ground to plant my toes, grasp my toenails...
It rains and rains and the debris encircling me spits mud on my cheeks, staining like freckles.
Hands could hold me but I'm spinning too fast.... I hear the winds of screams screeching across my body spinning me faster and faster. If only the wind would stop I could plant my soles.
I allow the tornado to whirl its course realizing I cannot fight that outside of me. That, without me. That which is without me.
I let the hurricane develope, envelope, evolutionize not revolutionize inside me.
I flood...
In my course all I could do is swim now. Yet the waves keep crashing on my back. Splat!
I'm down in the muddy waters. Stop!...
Staying still, I sink...
I float.... On the surface, the wind blows more waves that form away from me. As I see the formation coming closer, I breathe. I swim toward it... I stop. It flings me on its back. I grow higher and higher. I could see everything to where the storm began. There is the sun again, somewhere out there, let me see! As I dip... Split!
I hear the wave go back home only to start forming again. The surface is right above my head now... I float. I lay in silence on the face of this sea. I can only hear the waters, rains, wind outside of my earsteps. My nostrils flare. The winds enter me. Exhale. The waters move away from me like the shore. I breathe in again, rejoicing. The waters engulf me.
I dive inside myself, shut my eyes.
It is dark. I search everywhere like a maze. Running, sprinting, digging in corners. Looking, looking and not knowing for what. "Just breathe". I hear... I stop, catch my breath and delve deeper. I stop. Breathe and go deeper.
I float. Floating and the winds try to sway me and I just float:)
I refuse to open my eyes. I refuse to give that without me, trying to get at me, any attention. I float...
The winds try to soothe me this time by blowing soft, carribean winds that snare my eardrums... "warm winds-earthquakes" I say. I shut my ears, slick my hair back in its place and float.
Let the energy move freely. Let the waters, winds and matter take its course. Try to be a part of it and you will be steered. Fight it and you will be flooded. Accept your situation and let go. You'll float.

"Sometimes I go to lectures on the role of racism in our society. Sometimes I like to get lost on the road even though I complain. Sometimes I love talking about why we are so fucked up and then I realize that part of what I criticize somewhat resides in me too and it is a strong indication of my human make up. Sometimes I fucken go crazy and my compassion for the crazy motherfuckers in downtown and those driving on our highways grows a little thinking : I was there or almost there or a fracture of hair there, in ?€œCrazy?€?. I love being in a good mood with positive energy flowing out of me and laughing my ass off and loving the company I am in. I find in these moments of awakened being, I am truly myself, and if I act in those moments, I will succeed at making people laugh."

to give energy to our struggle
and still have plenty left over to break down
and change the climate of hate and fear around us."

three rules of work
"I think it is generally true that in all cultures writers have a separate, perhaps even more honorific, place than do "intellectuals"; the aura of creativity and an almost sanctified capacity for originality (often vatic in scope and quality) accrues to writers as it doesn't at all to intellectuals, who with regard to literature belong to the slightly debased and parasitic class of "critics."
