Karen came to Vancouver on the Canadian tour of “RENT” where she played the roles of “Mimi” and “Joanne”. This was Karen's 4th show in Vancouver and the “The Queen Elizabeth Theatre”. One of the other shows was with Donnie Ozmond playing the egyptian seductress “Mrs. Potipher” in “Joseph…Dreamcoat”. Karen also played at the “Royal alexandra Theatre” for 2 years in the Gershwin musical “Crazy For You”.<>
One of Karen’s favorite credits is dancing and singing in the Oscar winning movie “Chicago” she is noted as saying, “I love to see peoples reaction when they find out that I was in the movie but I have to remind them not to blink if they are looking for me. ”
After moving to Vancouver, Karen’s acting career took off. One project that she is very proud to have been a part of is A&E’s 1 rated show “Flight 93”. She has the feature film "Tortured" coming out later this year where she playes wife to Laurence Fishbourne. Karen is very excited to have a recurring guest star role on the new series "JPOD" which is based on the works of Douglas Coupland. Some of her credits other include being part of the all-star cast of showtimes "Out of Order" starring William H.Macy, Eric Stolz, Felicity Hoffman, Peter Bogdanovich and Justine Bateman. Having made guest appearances on "Smallville", "Dr. DoLittle 4&5", "Twitches 1&2", “Fighting the Odds”,"Twilight Zone”, "Dead Zone", "Mutant x", Frances Ford Coppola's "Firstwave", and supporting lead roles in Showtime's "Out of Time", "Special Delivery", just to name a few. One of Karen 's highlight was being on location in New Zealand shooting a lead role in Alliance Atlantis 2hr. M.O.W "Riverworld". Karen loved fronting the disco band “Boogie Fever” that played at venues all around Vancouver and harbour cruiselines including the venue that Michael Bubble got his start.
These days Karen is focused on her jazz quintet ”Jazz, Baby”. The name struck her during a show when she realized that all of her musicians were born to play jazz. “It seems like we all could feel jazz even before we learned what it was all about. Jazz stimulates all of my senses and we endeavor to stimulate yours. ”
UGH! It's just that he picks the damnedest (I know it's not a word) times to take a nap. I am STARVING and I didn't plan on cooking because my dad gave us a gift certificate to go to Ruby Tuesday and we had plans to go. I tried to wake him up over an hour ago and he's still laying there. I'm moving on from annoyed to pissed off! anywayz, it went good. We got stuff for our wii.
