A strange mix ranging from Marty Robbins, to the Beatles, to70s rock like the Cars, Tom Petty, and the Who, to Motown, not to mention a guilty, fervent devotion to 80s music.

View Karen Joy Brown's EPK
For the past six years, singer songwriter Karen Joy Brown has surprised and delighted Northern California fans and media with what the Chico News and Review calls her “deeply soulful voice”. Terre Reynolds of KZFR Face the Music describes her as “having the whole package…..a beautiful voice, can play well, and writes beautiful songs.” But what new listeners invariably attest to is her singular ability to express emotion through a uniquely rich voice.
After 2008's summer in Spain and resettling, Karen is booking shows again both solo, and with her new project, Karen Joy Brown and the Bona Fides. New members, Christine LaPado on upright bass, and guitarist Chris Wenger’s veteran talent polish songwriting gems of genuine poetry and passion with authentic, elegant performances that take already soulful vocals to dizzying heights. Plans to record are in the works, and Karen's second album, Little Words, should be available within a year.

aha! Karen, I really wish we could sit down and have some copas and tapas right about now. I think about you all the time, and of course hope that everything is going just fine. besos!
I wanted to send a little hello to you, and let you know that you're not off the hook about getting together. My voice is just coming back... I've had the super flu for a month! yuck! But I did manage to get a few tracks I've been working on up on my profile. If you get a chance, take a listen to Fault Line, it's my newest little jem. Let me know what you think, about the songwriting (the performance is just ok...) Anywho, happy holidays, and lets get together real soon for singing and a few eggnogs.
Hey there, beautiful! Thank you so much for~so much! Playing your CD is surreal when I think of you in my living room singing! Such a talented girl!!! I will see you at Vintner's Cellar.
Hi Karen, Thanks for the add and thanks for your kind words about the Fingerprints in the Going to Ashland blog. It was a real pleasure meeting you and hearing you play and sing.
