My perfect day would be one spent at the beach on the Oregon Coast with my family, a good book and a picnic lunch. My favorite beach-lunch is a tuna sandwich(with dill pickles of course)and few layers of potato chips smashed inside. And for dessert, Double-Stuff Oreos. -Karen

My Mom- She is the most incredible woman I know. She is compassionate, caring and patient. Everyone who meets her walks away a better and encouraged person. When I grow up I want to be just like her! -Karen

About me:

I am a freelance writer and an author of a narrative non-fiction book. The book, "Breaking the Code-A Daughter's Journey" begins with a gift from my father. On his 81st birthday he gave me two notebooks full of letters he wrote during WWII. I transcribed all of the letters, but had a lot of questions too. So my father and I began meeting once a week at a local sandwich shop to discuss the contents of the letters. After each meeting, I would race home to write down what I'd learned. I became more and more intrigued and when he began experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for the first time in his life, I realized that there was something he wasn't telling me. There was something he was holding back, something terrible, something that hurt too much to talk about. In my book, you will discover, right along with me, what that secret was and how, once revealed, the stage was finally set for healing. I am currently seeking an agent perfect for this very special story. Aside from the book project, I am also a freelance writer. I write for regional and national magazines as well as anthologies (Chicken Soup for the Nurses Soul) and e-zines. And when I don't have my nose in a book or my fingers on the keyboard, I do have a life. I enjoy spending time with my three children, one husband, two cats, one dog and an assortment of birds who won't commit. I love to learn new things, and my most recent endeavors are photography, and scrapbooking. .. ..........

Who I'd like to meet:

People who are thinkers*-* People who don't just go with the flow because it's easy *-* People who can tell their point of view in a way that makes me want to rethink mine *-* I want to meet someone who lives in a treehouse- someone who can ride a unicycle - someone who gave up a high paying job for a dream*-* And I want to meet God-I've got a whole list of questions for Him! -Karen
