CHECK OUT MY RADIO SHOW ON KFSR.ORG, FRIDAYS AT 3PM PACIFIC TIME. IT'S CALLED "THE VOCAL HOUR" AND I PLAY SONGS BY THE VOCALISTS WHO MOST INSPIRE ME. :-) .......................................................................My singing has been influenced by every musician I've been lucky to work with. Also these things: that chemical that's released in my brain when I sing; daydreaming; bass lines; working as a dancer & choreographer; Mr. Brockman (high school choir director); Muriel Brown Older (voice teacher); pianist Jason Wanner; bassist Kevin Hill; the amazing Nate Ketner; and the voices and songs of Ella Fitzgerald, Mildred Bailey, EmmyLou Harris, Sarah Vaughn, Megan Slankard, Lucinda Williams, Joan Osborne, Rebecca Kilgore, Mary Black, Chrissie Hynde, Anita O'Day, Nancy Wilson, Nat King Cole, Natalie Merchant, Dinah Washington, Bonnie Raitt, and Julie Andrews.

THE INDEPENDENT, PLEASANTON, CA. SAYS: "This musically versatile songbird has a bell of a voice; clear, lyrical...her latest CD is a first-rate work, featuring renderings of jazz, folk, and gospel songs." ********** FRESNO MAGAZINE SAYS: "... the sensual and passionate bell-tone quality of her voice..." ********** THE UNDERCURRENT NEWSPAPER SAYS: "Karen Marguth has a beautiful voice that is well-suited for a variety of genres....her energetic vocals, impeccable articulation, story telling, emotion, and bright tone unify her performance." ********** BRUCE CAMPBELL, KJWL RADIO SAYS: "Her voice can take your breath away. Listeners call up to ask 'Who was that, and where can I get her CD?'" ********** MIKE OSEGUEDA, FRESNO BEE SAYS: "...Marguth has this smooth, sultry voice...her vocals are downright delightful." ********** ARMEN NALBANDIAN SAYS: "Karen surprises me every time I hear her sing. Her phrasing is breathtaking and her self-expression is unique in a medium that is quite easy to get over shadowed by the legends that have come before. Instead, Karen adapts to her musical environment, and while she ackmowledges the contributions of the past in her sound, her voice and expression is truly hers."
I was born, and one day soon after I discovered the sound of voices. I’m a singer, from the moment I awake, everywhere I go, til I fall asleep.

It's sounding great - we did mix 7 songs last week and have two more to go on the 8th. Mastering is on the 10th and the following day I'm leaving for a two months tour - not bad timing:)
