'Mulcahey' has been described as havng an 'explosive, bitter sweet voice' and songs that 'grab you by the vitals and don't let go'...songs that are 'intelligent, subtle, poignant' she has been descried as 'angry, passionate, political' and she 'demolishes all the female singer stereo types'. (Phil Turner, Advertiser)
Her songs are unique and cross from rock'n'roll folk to country blues to swinging 60s, but most of all they have something to say and her fan base ranges from teenagers to those who lived through the 60s. The band are now experimenting with all genres and cultural sounds whilst keeping an undeniable melody, anger, wit and gut rawness that takes hold of you.
The band 'Mulcahey' give her the scope she needs:
We are here to provide music that will be remembered in 40 years time! We are here to write brilliant songs and to stand out vocally and musically from the 'in crowd' to create our own crowd belonging to those who are vital, those who spy change, those who don't fit in to one place or group, it's music for the soul and the brain so that both may grow!
The Band: songwriter and vocals: Karen Mulcahey, Guitarist Mark Khaladj Oates, Bass player Gary Solomon and Drummer Sameer Butt.

'Find Your Way' is the arresting debut from Rotherham artist Karen Mulcahey.
She smashes into smithereens the clichéd myth of the female singer-songwriter as floaty, whimsical and romantically introspective. Her powerful voice - accompanied by guitarist Luke Pepper- resonates with passion, anger and defiance. Styles vary across the ten-track recording, from blues, to folk, to country, to rock. The subtle, intelligent lyrics cover a range of subjects, including journeys, disappointment in love and life, personal and political struggle. Ultimately though, the mood is uplifting. Find your way, sings Mulcahey hopefully at the end of the record, holding out a hand to all of us who know what it means to be lost.

Karen Mulcahey's Biography:
Karen Mulcahey was born in Liverpool, raised on a council estate in Warrington, England. Even in these formative years Karens unholy voice and her obsession with music was obvious to anyone who met her. It was at this early stage in her life that Karen learned the basics of the guitar and began to write her own songs. She was brought up on RocknRoll / Blues and later discovered folk, jazz and early crooner tunes. As a teenager Karen could be found busking with her guitar by the markets in Warrington.
At 18 yrs Karen left home for Lancaster University where she studied theatre, wrote, performed and directed shows. Perhaps it is Karens experience of drama that makes her such an engaging and powerful performer with a presence that has been commented on much.
After university Karen co-founded a touring theatre company and spent the next few years alternating between odd jobs, the dole queue and touring original theatre nationally. Throughout all her adventures Karen continued to sing in bands and write songs.
Over the last few years her song writing has become unwieldly and Karen has gigged her original material around England and Scotland, featuring at The Endinburgh Festival and in Big note venues around London. Karen started by doing acoustic sets with guitarist Luke Pepper and has now extended to full band sets with the new band above!
Karens work has received critical acclaim from both musicians and audiences alike. She has been praised for her refreshing sound and thoughtful, gripping lyrics that suggest maturity beyond her years.
Its time for the world to discover this unique and inspiring talent.
