Let's start with the basics:
1978
Karen was born; the world became a better place.
1980's
At about 8 or 9 years of age, Karen recorded a Karaoke-style version of Debbie Gibson's "Foolish Beat" and then also "Shake Your Love"
Around this same age, she wrote a song for her mom's birthday, but it wasn't as well-received as she had hoped... this in turn, scarred Karen's self-confidence in her songwriting abilities and wouldn't attempt to write another song until several years later.
90's
At fourteen she picked up the pieces and began writing songs on a regular basis without yet having played guitar.
For her 16th birthday, Karen received an acoustic guitar from her step-dad. For those who understand guitar speak, the action was a bit too high. Anyway, her soft little fingertips much preferred playing flute, in which she had excelled throughout middle school, high school, and her first semester of college. Her guitar excelled at dust collecting.
Y2K+
In Karen's early twenties, she finally decided to put her songs and guitar together. She played her first open mic at Club Dada in Dallas, TX which led to her first gig at the same venue.
2005
Karen's debut "Blind" was released... and a few months later she saved a press clipping from QuickDFW as "Band of the Week"
2007
Karen moved to Austin, TX and appeared on HDNet's "True Music w/Katie Daryl"
2009
Karen wrote this bio. Then revised it.
She is currently in the process of recording a new album.
