Writing, reading, movies, dancing (love SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and DANCING WITH THE STARS!), furry friends, babies and kids.
Music
Almost anything, as long as it's not too raunchy (or the singers sound like they're gargling nails!!!). Jazz, classical, older rock, blues, country...if it's got a beat, I'm there.
Movies
Lots of indie stuff, and foreign. Big on costume dramas, romantic comedy, family drama. Not so much on shoot-em-ups, NO slasher or torture porn. Ugh. But loved the Daniel Craig James Bond (go figure.)
Television
Not too much -- the dancing shows, clever sitcoms (FRIENDS, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, FRASIER, SCRUBS, SEX AND THE CITY, COUPLING, THE VICAR OF DIBLEY). Still hanging in there with DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (aren't we all?)
Books
Anything by Jennifer Crusie, Meg Cabot, Marion Keyes, Roland Merullo, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Curtis Anne Matlock, Terry McMillan, Anne Tyler, Janet Evanovich when she's writing alone, Emily Giffin, Marsha Moyer, Jeanne Ray. Dave Barry's BIG TROUBLE. Love upbeat women's fiction with romantic bent. Or any upbeat fiction, really. Nothing too dreary or bloody (yes, I'm a wimp and proud of it!)

I write romance novels – often funny, sometimes tear-jerking stories about real men and women falling in love, then saying nononono for a whole bunch of pages until one or both finally realizes, you know, this is a good thing, a good person, why am I fighting it so hard? In other words, I write about relationships.
Sex, however...not so much.
Which is not to say there’s no sex in my books. Sex is part of the human experience (and a very nice part of it it is, too). And certainly it’s part of falling in love. Holding hands is about sex. Kissing is about sex. Getting all warm and tingly inside because that cute guy across the room winks at you is about sex. And, yeah, the other stuff that happens later on. I got no problem with sex. Just not in great quantity or minute detail.
Because love is about more than chemistry.
Love is about about healing, about laughing, about repairing broken hearts, helping the weak find their strengths and cynics the courage to trust, not only another person, but themselves.
So. If you’re looking for titillation in my books, fair warning – you’ll probably be disappointed (unless you have an extremely low titillation threshold).
However, if you’re looking for a damn good love story that’ll make you grin through your tears at the end...I’m your gal.

Hi Karen, Wishing you all the best on your upcoming birthday. I just ordered your new release this week from eharlequin. I should have it in the next 2 weeks. I can't wait to read it.
If you like DWTS and SYTYCD, check out the video on my profile page. It came from Tony Dovolani's BDC site. By the way, yesterday I actually got a phone call from Tony Dovolani.I didn't pass out or start screaming, until I hung up the phone. He's just as nice in person as he seems on TV.
Have a great week, and enjoy your birthday. Hugs, Madeline:)
