PIONEER FATHERS
by karen swanson
pick up, let's go
his dad said to his mom
those words began a journey
to a new chapter in the life
of sedona's pioneers
gallup to oak creek
less than two years old
the life of james, a cowboy, began
plowing, roping, feeding, picking
working the land
james' hair was red
as rocks of the canyons
in sedona, their home on the range
then his brother jay
and justin came
and so it was
jesse and jessie elmer
raised those elmer boys to be
true pioneers of sedona
americans in every way!
and as life goes
they are dead and gone,
the five j elmers, bless their souls
but their legacy lives on
in elmersville
as you can see,
their children believe
that their lives touched many
we will never forget them
our pioneer fathers
of sedona, arizona

I am an American, a true patriot. I wish that I had served in the military because they are the true protectors of freedom and YES, peace! My strong conservative values are enough explanation as to why I believe in peace through strength, respect for life, attacks on evil (aka SATAN), right to bear arms, keeping illegal immigrants out and letting people gain citizenship LEGALLY like my maternal grandparents had to do it. I also believe in small government, low taxes, low government spending and PRAYER!
I'm a mom of 3, a sister of 6, a daughter, an aunt of lots and lots of cool kids, a great aunt, a sister-in-law, keeper of two cute doggies.
All 3 of my brothers served in the military during the Vietnam War. I don't like war protestors. I lived through the 1968 Chicago riots (I grew up on the south side), and the old black panthers. The new black panther party is one of the most racist groups out there. So are those who voted for Obama based on skin color. MLK Jr. did not promote basing any decisions on skin color--in fact, quite the opposite. Blacks love to quote him and set him on a pedestal, but they apparently didn't listen closely to his words.
I love to do ultrasound for a living, but without the politics of daytime hospital administration. I work some nights, I have volunteered at prolife and Christian clinics.
I love to sell Premier Designs Jewelry because it's awesome stuff and the profits go to help me support my kids and to help missions all over the place.
I loved to talk to and visit my Dad. He and my mom are still my heroes, although they are both in Heaven. Mom went in 1999, my dad met her there in 2006.
Snoopy is my favorite character and I would like to have his creator's museum as my home (the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA).
I love the Phoenix Suns, although I grew up a devout Chicago Cubs fan, even though I lived on the south side of the city.
I went to a beautiful college in Flagstaff, AZ--Northern AZ University. I also went to a very cultural high school in Chicago--Maria High School. It was and still is run by Lithuanian nuns and I wish I had taken Lithuanian as a second language. My mom spoke it fluently.
There is a road in Sedona named after my family who homesteaded there--Elmersville Road (my maiden name is Elmer).
I am a twin, I have twin nieces and had twin grandmother/great aunt. I also have twin great niece & nephew on the way!
I love Lake Powell.
I love patriotism for our great country and support our troops 100%. My Dad helped keep us free by taking part in WWII as a Marine--he was the toughest guy I ever knew!
Most of all, I love God and all His gifts. He made a great forever for many of my loved ones who have passed and they are saving a place for me!!

We have our flag at half-staff, in memory of all those that have lost their lives eight years ago today. May we never forget and remember the families and our brave uniformed, and military still fighting today. Our whole family is wearing red today with an American flag shirt in support of our heroes and those lost.
I can hear you, the rest of the world can hear you and the people who knocked ... We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail. ... Whether we bring our enemies to justice, or bring justice to our enemies, justice will be done. ...George W. Bush. ~~
Thank you so much for supporting our Troops!!! I appreciate it and I know our Troops overseas appreciate it.
It's that time of year where we ask you for your support. We are currently working on our 2010 calendars to send to our Troops serving to thank them for their service overseas and we need your help.
Please visit our website (banner/link on my page and below) and myspace page (the top friend) and do what you can. Read about what we do and please make a donation so we can thank our Troops. They deserve our thanks! No donation is too small or too large. Your donation is tax dedictible as we are a 501(c)(3) and well over 90% of all money we receive goes to thank our Troops and support our wounded.
We are only able to do this every year because of you and everyone else who supports our Troops. I hope we can continue thanking those who give so much!
Please help us out and thank you in advance!
