About me:
BRILLIANT! INSIGHTFUL! HILARIOUS! COMIC, ACTIVIST, EDUCATOR, ROLE MODEL, LEADER In the process of setting up a nationwide tour to celebrate my 25th year of performing comedy, sponsored by SFWAR (San Francisco Women Against Rape). My idea is to contact rape crisis centers in each of the cities where I plan to perform comedy and to conduct a "Humor and Healing" workshop at the center. I want to heighten awareness about rape in general and as a tool of war, and my ultimate goal is to involve more men who will actively speak out and act against rape. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D ~ Dee ~
