Rapidly becoming a recognizable face in the dance scene, dj Kares has been enamoring partygoers across the States as her infectious positive attitude envelops dancefloors both intimate and massive as she drops her signature funky, progressive sound. Her innate ability to get the crowd moving stems from her long-time passion for dance music, and years spent as a cheerleader by day, nightclub employee by dark as she worked at several local spots. Spending most of her time in clubs in both Boston and New York City, Kares cites her initial inspiration for jumping on the decks as the likes of dj greats Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren, Icey, & Baby Anne. Current inspirations include Agent 001, Infusion, Dylan Rhymes, Meat Katie, Chris Micali, & Bon Johnson. Kares has an energetic, refreshing style that fades all genre boundaries and takes partygoers on a funky ride that keeps them dancing until dawn.
The past years have taken Kares on an adventure through many East Coast party cities including New Orleans for Mardi Gras, as well as gigs at Fat Black Pussycat and Ampersand for New Years, and of course Miami for Winter Music Conference, where her gigs included the Wyndham Hotel lobby – epicenter to WMC, and numerous other events like Bring on the Beats. Her talent has been showcased in cities such as Hollywood, Charlotte, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Jackson, Memphis, Tampa and Springfield, where she held a monthly residency. On the local scene, Kares is the co-founder of Boston Breaks & monthly resident at the home of Boston Breaks, The Phoenix Landing. She has played at Avalon, as tour opener to dj Icey & dj Rap, as well as made appearances at the infamous late-night members only club, Rise. She has appeared on radio shows in every corner of the country, including most recently a guest spot on Frisky Radio, Paul Van Dyk's Vonyc Radio, Proton Radio, and the Porterhouse show on Sirius Radio. Add a thriving touring schedule of manning warm-up duties for djs such as Icey& Baby Anne to rockin’ out driving peak-hour sets in various cities, and it is clear that Kares has claimed not only a permanent spot behind the decks, but a place in the hearts of fans all over...
