The Karikuy organization was founded in order to bring students, adventurers and tourists together to experience the vibrant culture of Peru like no other tour company around. Founded by J.C Tello in 2007, Karikuy aims to unite the people of different societies and cultures through tight knit programs. These program can include volunteering, tourism, trekking, adventure sports and exploration. With J.C Tello as your personal guide you will gain a much better understanding of modern and indigenous culture in Peru as well as take part in local ceremonies and festivals. In short, you will not be a passing tourist but fully enveloped in the activities and life surrounding you.
Peru has seen a boom in it's tourism industry since the start of the millennium, however most current tour companies are taking advantage of this growth and shuttling tourists through the country in assembly line fashion, profits drive these international companies, not the end result of your experiences in Peru. With Karikuy you will meet the people who call Peru home, you will sing, dance and laugh with us. Experience the thrill of mountain biking through the Andes with us, or the fear of driving along steep mountain passes, to the humbling effect of watching sunrise over Machu Picchu.
