Karim was born in Hannover, Germany and grew up in Europe until moving to Canada at the age of 11.
He first started drumming at the age of 12 and began taking lessons and studying privately with Adam David (Ray Charles, clinician) and Jim McGillivary (Joe Cocker, Eloy).
Over the years Karim has had the opportunity to record and tour with artists such as Sass Jordan, David Wilcox, Wild T & The Spirit and The Randy Coven Band to name just a few. He has recorded hundreds of sessions plus jingles for major named producers and has made numerous live TV appearances.
He's traveled the world playing music...from Hawaii to Dubai and his musical tastes reflect it.
Karim is well versed in all kinds of music and prides himself on being a musical groove player who knows when to pull out the chops. Musicality and musical intuition is what best describes Karim's playing.
"I want to make my fellow musicians feel secure so they know that there is solid time & groove behind them in any playing situation."
My friend, I hope you're not exhausted of live music after NXNE, because I'd like to personally invite you for a drink and a smile at our musical party this Thursday, June 19th at Sneaky Dee's. We'll be accompanied by a couple of very energetic & powerful bands (The Isosceles Project & ADA) that will make for an especially high-caliber soirée.
If you're curious about details or want to invite others, here's the event listing (I assure you this link is not hazardous): http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=21522645916
Thank you immensely, Karim. You're a good man; please persist in your goodness.
Peace, respect & good karma. -ivory tree observatory
