About me:

I am:
single; female; vegetarian; college graduate; daughter; sister; friend; godmother; rabid fangirl

I like:
rock concerts; the 90s; flannel; my doc martens; being a history geek; studying japanese culture, language, and history; quilting; and my friends

I can also be found in the following net!places:
- Livejournal (duh)
- Twitter (now more or less defunct)
- Facebook (took the place of Twitter after I broke up with it)
- YouTube (this one is self-explanatory, right?)
- Last.fm (because there isn't much in this world I love more than music)
- LinkedIn (apparently this is how people find jobs, these days)

I've been on a go-green kick for the last few months. Please take some time to visit the following sites:
- Planet Green
- Mother Nature Network
- TreeHugger
- One Million Acts of Green

"Isn't man an amazing animal? He kills wildlife - birds, kangaroos, deer, all kinds of cats, coyotes, beavers, groundhogs, mice, foxes and dingoes - by the million in order to protect his domestic animals and their feed. Then he kills domestic animals by the billion and eats them. This in turn kills man by the millions, because eating all those animals leads to degenerative - and fatal - health conditions like heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer. So then man tortures and kills millions more animals to look for cures for these diseases. Elsewhere, millions of other human beings are being killed by hunger and malnutrition because food they could eat is being used to fatten domestic animals. Meanwhile, some people are dying of sad laughter at the absurdity of man, who kills so easily and so violently, and once a year, sends out cards praying for Peace on Earth."

p.s. teege is awesome (even if she adds stuff into my myspace when i leave it logged in at her house)

Who I'd like to meet:

"...life is sorrowful. We all decline, slowly or quickly, and we die. We can't change that. But we can change our attitude toward it.

"We each have only a limited amount of time here. We have to do more with it--pay attention, explore, be open to all of life. Because we have only one chance, we have to make life seem longer than it really is."

Thanks for reading, yo!  I, too, have had to consciously curb my overuse of parentheses.  And I, too, am a vegetarian. :)  Nicely done!

Hiya, Karen!! ^__^ I am good~ After returning from Taiwan finally a few months ago, I've been taking classes.  Nothing much exciting has been going on, although I did see VAMPS and more recently GLAY when they came to San Francisco again this summer. ^__^ How are YOU doing??  I hope everything is great!!!  Have a joyful weekend~

    Take Care,

That's not bad, and after this month I should be in some money again. Got more hours and another job so hopefully things should be good financially. But yeah it sounds fun :)

  • May 23 2009 1:25 AM

Say...would you know if fondant would be the best material to use to make firm, 3D decorations for baked food?
  • May 21 2009 11:43 PM

Hows Laurie doing? She ok? Do she have a date yet when she will be out forsure?
  • May 18 2009 5:41 PM

That would be awesome. I wanted to make it to Teege's bbq, but since it was the day of my Grandparent's visit to my aunt's place in Murrieta, the trip tired me out more than I anticipated.

And then Paul's Bday is June 6. I'm waiting to finish up this week so I can apply for more work. At least some extra part time stuff if I can't get a full-time office. Things are so tight >.< I'm sure you feel it too :/
  • May 18 2009 5:24 PM

Arigatou! I need it T_T Too much stress, I tell ya. I don't think I'll be celebrating my birthday this year, but if you and Teege want to do something after this week I will be more available. And hopefully have more sleep.
  • May 18 2009 6:48 AM

Happy Birthday!!! Just wanted to make sure I didn't forget in the tornado of finishing up finals.
  • May 3 2009 11:04 PM

I'm glad you're going to be doing something fun... ^_^ Have a nice week~
  • May 2 2009 11:37 PM

Hey Karen, how are you doing? Are you feeling a bit better? You can try to think of this period as a gift. Read some books, listen to music, work on hobbies, learn a new skill, etc.... I know it's hard, but when you are working, you probably don't have a lot of time for other things, so you can try to take advantage of this "vacation" or "sabbatical," even if it's involuntary.... Please take good care of yourself, alright? *HUG*
  • Apr 23 2009 4:15 AM

  • Apr 12 2009 11:31 PM

Glad to hear that you have nearly recovered from your case of the flu!! ^__^ Hope you have a great week!!!
