My name is Karla and I am a 27-year old Philadelphia native with a taste for all things outdoors. I love being outside; it really doesn't matter what I am doing. Living in the city kind of limits what I can do but I love riding my bikes everywhere and taking pictures (I have a lot posted so check them out). Whenever I can I try to head down he shore with my boards or up the mountains where I can hike, swim, whatever. I honestly hate the winter, though. The only good thing about the winter is snowboarding and maybe freezing my ass off camping but that's about it.
I am probably one of the most complicated people you could ever meet, but until you really get to know me you might not really understand what this means. I don't really like trying to label myself but sometimes I guess you just have to. I have lots of really great friends and acquaintances who are into so many different things - they are all really great people and it helps keep my life interesting seeing people who are into the things I am.
I actually love doing arts and crafts in my spare time: sewing, making jewelry, learning to paint, needlepoint, you name it. I have a house full of the shit! Literally! So if you ever need something made message me! I love doing custom work!
I think I have been into art almost my entire life. I was a musician for years playing piano and bass mainly but always did crafts, especially making jewelry for myself, my friends and to sell at craft shows. I am working on filling my house with art, prints, and photos as well as other things I find along the way. There really isn't much that I don't know how to do. I'm not tying to be conceited either, I just am able to figure things out quickly I guess. I love going to little indie gallery and finding new things not only to buy but to draw inspiration from as well. I love making things my own. I think it's important for people to be creative and learn to see the beauty in things both natural and fabricated by someone. That's just me though I guess.
I currently own and operate two small online businesses where I sell my indie style and eco friendly crafts. You can find them here:
I also do a lot of consignment work as well. If you in the Philadelphia area you can check out some of my work at these shops and help support local businesses:
Check them out when you get a minute. They are two really great shops with two very unique styles: one serving more of an "indie" art crowd and the other an homage to my love for nature. The prices are great too, which is always a good thing. You can follow my shop on twitter, too @ http://twitter.com/zapoldesigns or at http://www.zapoldesigns.blogspot.com.
4th & South Street, Philadelphia
I am also planning on doing some consignment out of state, but that won't be until September so keep checking back for more info!
Aside from all of that I think I am just your typical Philadelphia city girl. I love riding my fixed gear around checking out art shows and dive bars. I like shopping but not like other girls usually do. I love tattoos and piercings (I now have 8 tattoos and several piercings, but had to let me lobes shrink up) have a habit of hanging out with people who are the same. After work I like learning how to skate better (usually longboarding though), playing video games, and just hanging out. I guess you could say I am a cross between a hipster and surfer chic of sorts, but whatever. I am just me.
Below
is a video of Nigel Potter's song, No More War (Upon The Green Earth)
that is part of the Mantra Of Peace music compilation. I constructed
this video for Nigel because it's an important song with a very popular
sentiment that has been an anthem for a very long time.
I hope you will watch and appreciate all of our efforts to bring about messages in peaceful artistic means.

5The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. 6He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7He
was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And
he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.
MARK OF THE BEAST (RFID CHIP, SATANS MARK):
Revelation 13:16-18 (New International Version)
16He also forced
everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a
mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18This
calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number
of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
