Karlee

Born in Upstate New York, Karlee entered the world to make it her own. She began singing at the tender age of two. She was always a very energetic child, and when she entered the room eyes gravitated towards her. Karlee’s childhood was like that of a classic movie. Her dad hunted all of the family’s meat and the family grew their own vegetables. Karlee remembers riding their horses by the pond with a creek that flowed from the lake on the top of a mountain. She always had room to breathe fresh air and gather her thoughts when writing her music. With acres of land around her this was where Karlee spent most of her time alone. Her imagination and creativity grew from there to occupy her time.

Karlee did not choose music, but instead music chose her. When people asked her how she “got into it” she replies with “I didn’t get into it, it was inside me and I just had to let it out.” There’s nothing other than a life of making music Karlee would rather have. She continues to use her music as a way to share with others what has been shared with her.

Aside from singing, Karlee is gifted in playing the hand drums, penny-whistle, and an Irish drum called a Bohdrum. She writes her own music and has collaborated with composer Ross Vannelli, whose credits are seen in such movies as Children on Their Birthdays and A Fix. He has also produced hits for Celine Dion and Toni Braxton. Hip hop artist Bad Lucc is the featured rapper on Karlee’s single FLOW. He is a member of rap group Dubb Union. Dubb Union made their first major label appearance on the song “Like This” from Snoop Dogg’s 2006 album The Blue Carpet Treatment. He has also co-written many songs for Snoop Dogg. Although Karlee has her own unique sound, those who have heard her compare her sound to such music icons as Fergie, Nelly Furtado, and Katy Perry. Like many music artists, Karlee’s favorites range from Opera to Hip Hop, Jazz to Bluegrass. She enjoys the symphonies. Being part Native American, she likes lots of percussion. Many of her favorite artists that inspire her are Frank Sinatra, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Michael Jackson, and Mariah Carey, to name a few. In the future she hopes to collaborate with Kanye West, Dave Mathews, and Britney Spears, among others.

Karlee does not just include singer on her resume, but also, fashion designer. She has her own couture line, “Lime,” which she hopes to further develop. She often incorporates her songs into her fashion shows. Her main goal, however, has always been and will continue to be living out her dream, which is to share her music with the world.

As for now, Karlee’s first singles, THA BOSS and FLOW, are set to be released to radio January 2010. FLOW will be serviced to rhythmic radio and THA BOSS to Top 40 radio stations. The starlet is looking forward to the New Year in store for her, and eagerly awaits the time when she is able to share her music and tour for her many fans, and create more fans on her way to the top of the charts.
