Karma Violens were founded in September 2002.
Our music is an amalgam of Extreme Metal (death, thrash, black), combined with Hardcore music lines and idiosyncrasy. A good friend of ours, described us as a “sick and ramboesque Metalcore band”. We don’t really agree with the “metalcore” distinction, but we wouldn’t mind keeping the first two prefixes!
Since we don’t use a label to characterize our music, we don’t use one for our ideology either. We are stimulated by various issues of human existence, the existence of humans in a society and their innate fears. Our lyrics express the self-questions, whether important or unimportant, that each of us ponders consciously or subconsciously. Our words are a socio-political message that is uninfluenced by any kind of “wars”, political or mental. Our personal experiences are the stimulus for inspiration…
Throughout our short history, we’ve already released a live recording and a Mini-cd named “Katara” (it was selected as “Demo of the month”, May 2007, in METAL HAMMER UK) and we also have participated in the Sound N’ Vision compilation “Greece Attacks, Vol II”. We’ve also performed live with significant bands such as Rotting Christ, Homo Iratus, Rafferty Rules, Straighthate, Disembowel, Negative Creeps, Sickening Horror, Stagnate etc. in Athens and throughout the country. At this moment we are working on various new songs and hopefully to record them in the following next months, with the purpose to create our first full-length album.
Our aim is to participate in as many live gigs as possible, to keep playing our music, ‘cause we really enjoy it! To sign up with a record label, so that more people can hear our work and…keep drinking as many beers as possible…!
