Description:“Loss” is a story for anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one. It is the story of a woman who while sitting at her father’s death bed, she witnesses her father being “taken”. Later on a hill top that nearly touches the sky, Elsie (Monica Barajas) confronts the man (Ben Schmitt) who took her father and learns the answers to death as well as life.

A three year-old girl loves to help her daddy with the laundry. In between the laundry cycles they play with dough, play outside in the yard, Daddy has a way of making such a thankless task fun. But what the little girl really likes to do is ball-up the socks. Her big girl task makes her feel proud. What her daddy doesn’t realize is that she miss-matches all the socks.

Karmic Courage started with a short film entitled "Laundry Day" which was made for $23 and shot in 4 days. "LOSS" is the first major production to come from Karmic Courage. It is a short film that provides hope to those that are struggling with the death of a loved one.
In the fall of 2007 Karmic Courage underwent the monumental task of creating a visual story based on the poem "First They Came For" by the Reverend Martin Niemoller. Filmed in one day, filmmaker Kate Chaplin strived to update the poem to include prejudices that we are still fighting today in an attempt to start a dialogue about the importance of standing up for human rights.
