Karnaj vit le jour en 1996. La scène punk grandissait extrêmement vite à cette époque et c'est alors que le groupe fit plusieurs shows à travers la province de 1998 à 2001. En 2001, après avoir enregistrer le premier cd "REACTIF", le groupe devint blasé de jouer du punk/hardcore pas très distinctif des autres groupes... Alors, Karnaj travaillèrent très fort durant 3 ans afin d'avoir des compositions plus complexes. En 2005, ils enregistrèrent un démo de 10 chansons. On peut alors voir la différence du nouveau son du groupe qui est plus métal et plus violente. En Août 2005, Jean-Pierre quitta le groupe pour aller s'installer à Vancouver. C'est alors que Max fit son apparition au sein du groupe comme bassiste. Louis remplace maintenant Max à titre de bassiste.
Karnaj was born in 1996. The quebec's punk scene was growing up very fast at this time, so Karnaj played in many shows around the Province between 1998 and 2001. In 2001, After the recording of the full length cd REACTIF, Karnaj was a little bit bored to play some Punk / hardcore stuff, so the band started to work on new songs for about 3 years. In 2005, Karnaj recorded a new 10 songs demo and we can hear the difference between the old HE'S THE ONE demo (1998) and the 2005 DEMO. Songs are now more trashy, violent, tight, Metal, technical and more different than other bands. In August 2005, Jean-Pierre left the band to go to Vancouver, so Max (who replaced JP for 8 months in 2004) joined the band . In 2006, Max left the band and Louis came in.
