   About karoshi

Karoshi: to work oneself to an early death.

Take from that what you will.

Karoshi is Sydney based musician Beres Jackson. Karoshi is currently working on a new album, but it is taking a little longer than expected. In between now and then, there are some remixes coming out, and hopefully a split 7 with a new track in the next few months. We are all very excited at karoshi-central about what is happening. Make sure you catch one of our shows if you are around. We now have a couple of extra peeps on stage and it makes for a nice little vibe. We will definitely be touring quite extensively this year as well if and when the new album comes out.

"A dreamy new offering from Sydney based electronic artist Karoshi, full of glitchy beats, melancholic melodies and deft, sublime ornamentation. ‘Like Air From Your Lungs’ is the first offering since the release of his wonderful debut EP, and combines the left-field beats of Fourtet with Boards of Canada’s innate sense of ambience and melody. Karoshi is a master of digital music, and ‘Like Air From Your Lungs’ is another example of his abundant talent." The Vine

"...beautiful sense of melody married with the glacial speed of Sigur Ros... Something beautiful this way comes" The Brag - Indie Album of the Week

"Sophisticated production and aesthetically mature sound mark a promising debut." Cyclic Defrost

we enjoyed the whole night a great deal. the sound guy turned out to be quite nice after his initial panicked introduction. foldback notwhithstanding, of course!

i'm looking forward to hearing the new album demos even more now - send them over! some really nice building, moving music happening.

did you manage to squeeze any money out of the manager?

give it a month or so my friend! just making some minor changes and tweaking, we are perfectionists. but you will hear about it! we intend to make a large splash when we start playing live. so planning is needed! but you will hear about it! we should play together sometime! we will have more demos up soon. just fixing my digi002 desk so we can start laying tracks down again. talk soon comrade karoshi!

greetings comrade, life is swell. you know what, i will answer your question properly...jacob is great! he is busy with year 11 and has been a bit disappointed with his pas exams (too much band practice not enough study) and my brother deanis the penis is in his final year of study at sydney doing mechanical engineering, which makes sense...he plays the drums like an effing machine. i have devoted a year of my life to earning money and buying electronic toys to forward we are volcanoes. So i am doing fantastic! i hope that answers your question and you don't think i have too much time on my hands. how is your life treating you comrade? album coming along well? looking forward to hearing it. adios!
