When KARYN WILLIAMS decided to move to Nashville, she had one thing on her mind - music. She had no idea that she was about to be given the opportunity to write a book that would shape future generations. Her first release, "The Takeaway" is a book she co-wrote with her dad, Orlando Magic Executive, Pat Williams. The book was born out of a card Karyn gave her dad the night before she moved away from home. In the card, she listed his most important life lessons -- the ones she would "takeaway" and carry with her for the rest of her life. The book has just released (HCI) and is available at major bookstores, and on www.amazon.com. Not only an author, Karyn is a talented songwriter as well. A staff writer for Brentwood Benson Music Publishing, she had her first cut on a major recording project in 2008.
The eldest daughter of longtime NBA Executive and Orlando Magic Vice President Pat Williams, Karyn grew up in a family of 19 children. She has 14 adopted brothers and sisters from all over the world. Before graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Journalism/Broadcast Communications, she held the title of Miss University of Florida 2000. She finished as first runner-up in the Miss Florida pageant later that year also winning the interview and talent portions of the competition. She has completed eight marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice.
Karyn is an energetic woman, authentic and genuine in everything she does. She has a heart for God and a passion for people. Her unique life story is a powerful testimony you do not want to miss!
