I'll look forward to working my way back through your blogs and look forward to more Monkey Tales...
Jan Garbarek has been one of the most frequent jazz visitors to Edinburgh over the years, though I haven't been to see him for quite a while now. I've more or less fallen out of the way of regular concert going - though on the jazz side, I saw Nils Petter Molvaer play an excellent set over in Glasgow this year. The man I really want to see live is Arve Henriksen. I was quite lucky otherwise in that the only other two big shows that I saw were also excellent - Harmonia and Einsturzende Neubauten - Neubauten were so much more musical than anticipated - I had expected the evening to be possibly quite challenging but, in fact, it was a concert of a lifetime and a real joy to the ears in fidelity as well as content.
I hope that your Sunday is good.
Many thanks for visiting the September's Room page too...
All the best

For no reason that I could pinpoint, as I read monkey tales, I found myself wondering if I was going to find Gunther Grass on your book list. You didn't disappoint. ((^_>^)
I found myself suddenly in a far more surreal environment than expected with monkey tales. I very much enjoyed the pieces that I read, but will return to them when I am in a state of mind when my mood of the evening already fits with the mood of your writing.
Homage to Catalonia - yes - my favourite of his - I loved when Orwell describes being shot in the neck and wanting to congratulate the chap that actually managed to hit him ... then they tried to feed him paella didn't they? My other fond memory of the book was their trying to get the enemy to desert by telling them that they were eating hot buttered toast. ((^_>^)
The Draughtsman's Contract is the Greenaway I can't stop watching.
I saw John Surman play a solo set here and he was excellent. He started with a free improvisation walking through the audience and I could have left thinking that I'd had my money's worth just after that. Seemed to be a lovely person too.
I spent sometime trying to find where I had accidentally opened my homepage before I realised that Convergence was coming from yours. Thank you for that.... and thanks again to Becky for writing that review that you mentioned should she spot this. ((^_>^)
all the best
Les

Hope you are well.
