From the time he was a kid imagining he was George Strait playing for thousands, Kasey Earl's destiny was evident. There was no doubt he would be a performer. Kasey began playing drums about the time of his salvation at age 10. A couple of years later, he began playing for his church and various church camps across the Ark-La-Tex region. After a short time of this, Kasey knew what God's purpose for his life was and surrendered to the ministry at age 13.
Throughout his high school career, Kasey built on his gift of music, achieving the recognition of being Elysian Fields High School's first ever Texas All-State band member. He was placed 1st Chair Snare in the All-State concert band his junior year and 1st Chair drum set in the first ever ATSSB All-State jazz band as a senior. But he knew if he wanted to continue to lead worship he needed to be able to play guitar and sing. There wasn't always a full band available to play. Kasey began leading worship for his youth group at New Hebron Baptist Church in Elysian Fields, Texas.
In the search for a band to play for a "See You At the Pole" rally, Kasey's youth minister introduced him to a group of guys from Longview, Texas. The group played on September 18, 2001 for the rally after only a couple of hours of rehearsal. It was easy to see that God had plans for this group. They were contacted by many of the youth ministers that were in attendance at the rally to play for their churches. After a few name changes, Floodlight was formed. The band continued to gain fame in the area and soon began their own repertoire of Christian rock/pop music.
After almost three years with Floodlight, God placed Kasey at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Doors opened quickly for Kasey to use his gift. He was introduced to Rob Leonard, director of the Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship of UAM where Kasey now leads worship every Thursday night for "Renown". Kasey is also the drummer for renowned saxophonist and Lamon Records recording artist Gary Meggs and the Ezekiel 3:18 Band. With multiple radio releases playing nationally, Ezekiel 3:18 is quickly becoming known as "America's Jazziest Gospel Group", having been featured on "Good Morning Arkansas" and Total Christian Television's "Alive!". Kasey Has also had the opportunity to play with artists such as Lawrence Hamilton, Frida Payne, and Ms. Della Reese.
