The summer of '04 gave birth to the band 'Kasia'. Kasia performed at Splashy Fen that same year as a four piece band and included guests artists such as Dave Birch on guitar and Angus on violin. The onset of a new direction in the music by the frontman (or frontwoman) Kasia, resulted in a simplifying of the band and the music. Kasia now consists of 2 regular members: the talented and original singer and songwriter, Kasia, and the desirable and inspirational guitarist, Steven Murray. While guest artists like Gareth Gale and Mike Goddard (percussion) and Dave Birch (guitar), are also regularly seen on stage alongside Kasia. Kasia delivers a largely acoustic performance of alternate folk rock that constantly re-invents, challenges and experiments with the genre. The deceptively sweet vocals are an ideal cover up for the often scathing and jarring lyrics which is fitting commentary on today's society. Kasia's debut CD entitled 'Too Easy' will be on shelves this September and songs featured on this album make up the bulk of her performances.
