About me:

Poet. Singer of Songs. Student of Life.

Found sitting in the back of the bus with his face buried in a graffiti-laced notebook. New Orleans own Kataalyst (The Instrument of Change) started writing his junior year of high school. He stuck out like the sore thumb. Labeled as a “outcast” As irony would have it, Southernplayalisticcadillackmuzik was the first c.d. he ever purchased.

He began cutting his teeth at local open mic cafes and local talent shows an gradually slid on to stages with such artist as Goapele, Dead Prez, Sunni Patterson and Truth Universal. Versatile with skills his been known to go from singing to speaking to even beat boxing during his time on stage. Playful and Charismatic Kataalyst is quite a character off stage, on the microphone is a different story.

He Passionately Rip's words from the sky brashly crushing them together like A concrete jigsaw puzzle. When asked why does he speak this way he simply said “Life is too short to be quiet”, it only makes sense that one of his heroes, the lover of LOUD colors himself, is none other than Hype Williams.

Poetically, he is more drawn to the works of Amir Suliman, Chancelier “Xero” Skidmore, Shihan, Steve Connell & Sekou Tha Misfit. Known for his love for wordplay, lyricism, and energy he is nothing short of powder keg wrapped in a 5'10 frame. With the sun to his back and air in his lungs he hopes to fill eardrums with whispers of Hope, Harmonious Chaos and Humbleness.
