Having been discovered by legendary producer Glyn Johns (Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Eagles) at the tender age of 17, Kate Aumoniers career went from strength to strength. After seeing her live, Glyns immediate reaction was to introduce her to Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. Equally blown away by her extraordinary voice, they invited her to sing backing vocals on their new album project The Tucson Sessions. This Grammy nominated album would prove to be an invaluable experience for Kate.
Soon after, Kate took up a residency at Londons Kashmir Klub. Here she came to the attention of New Orleans blues legend Dr John, who offered her the special guest slot on his upcoming UK tour. Remarkably, Dr Johns band were so enamoured by her opening set, that they memorised her songs and surprised her on-stage for the last show of the tour a true testament to Kates talent and charm.
After months of collaborations with names such as Gordon Raphael (The Strokes), Richard Caulson (Ryan Adams), TD Lind (Eden Street), Jez Ashurst (Farrah) and Mike Rutherford (Genesis), Kate signed her first record deal with Sanctuary.
Kates debut album Here I am was released at the end of 2004 to critical acclaim and extensive airplay on Radio 2, with Bob Harris and Terry Wogan in particular championing her music. Over the next 12 months, Kate toured non-stop and performed extensively across the UK, headlining at venues such as The Borderline and supporting James Blunt and Jamie Cullum. More recently, her Isle of Wight Festival appearance placed her on the same bill as REM, Snow Patrol and The Magic Numbers.
More recently, Kate teamed-up with the brilliant Ethan Johns of Ryan Adams, Counting Crows, Ray LaMontagne and Kings of Leon fame, to start writing and recording new material. Ethan in turn introduced Kate to Julianna Ray and Luther Russell. This new material will form part of a very exciting new group project to be launched later this year.

Hey! Hope you are doing good. I wanted to let you know about a show i'm doing in London on Sunday, June 1st.
I'm touring with Tommy Allsup. He played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is the guy playing on songs like "Heartbeat", "It's So Easy", etc, etc.....he is 76 and still going strong.
He is a character.
Anyway, i would love to see you at the show. I think as a fellow musician that you will really appreciate seeing Tommy play, and listening to his stories! He is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens.
If you want to see Tommy in action....check out my blog. There is a video from last week in Nashville from the studio.
Take care, the music is sounding great, and i hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Kevin Montgomery
