I usually perform solo piano, but sometimes I'm lucky enough to team up with a singer or cellist or flute player. My album, "The Seeker," has an orchestra of FANTASTIC musicians from the Local 47 in L.A.
Influences
Tchaikovsky and The Beatles are my top influences - when I was a child my siblings and I would ecstatically dance in the living room to the strains of The 1812 Overture, and the first album I purchased with my own money was "Meet the Beatles," I must have been 9 or 10 - followed closely by Frederic Chopin, John Denver, Ludwig van Beethoven, Moody Blues, McCoy Tyner, Laura Nyro, Keith Jarrett, Claude Debussy, Joni Mitchell, and, especially, my piano teachers, Carolyn Denham and Marilyn Thompson.

inscapes reviews
“inscapes” is Kate Moody’s fourth CD to date, but is a happy first for me. A pianist, composer, conductor, and educator, Moody brings vast musical experience as well as knowledge to her music, making it much more than pop or background music while staying accessible and easy to grasp. Emotionally rich and full of grace, the music is soothing and calming yet complex enough to reveal new things each time it is heard. The title is defined as “the essential quality of a thing, place, person, etc., especially as expressed in an artistic work,” and the music expressed here is both deeply personal and universally understandable. It will quite possibly be one of my favorite albums of the year...
“inscapes” is an outstanding CD in every way, from the cover artwork and informative liner notes to the first note through the last. Discover the music of Kate Moody, and I think you’ll be as moved as I have been. It is available from www.katemusic.com, cdbaby.com, and iTunes. Highly recommended!

Come and join me on an adventure in the snow, lets play as children, build snowman, make snow angels and have a big snowball fight and afterwards we'll snuggle up around a roaring fire with a mug of hot chocolate. Want to play?
Wishing you a wonderful weekend filled with love and laughter.
When you get down to it, we basically go back and forth between two basic emotions: love and fear. Fear can be healthy(fear of walking into traffic for instance) but most of the time, it's an unreal movie we are playing in our head. Fear prevents us from living our dreams, from taking chances, from living our lives the way would like to. Our fears hold us prisoner in jails of our own making. Only when we live through the eyes of love and not fear can we be truly authentic and true to ourselves.
Today, I have a simple question for you. Please ponder it. And find a way to act on it. What risks would you take if you weren't afraid? Wishing you a wonderful week ahead,

Happy Friday 13th! Energy is neither good nor bad, it is how we decide to use that energy that defines who we are and the kind of experiences we have. Friday 13th is a powerful day, but not one to be feared. We must always remember that whatever we think about we will attract into our lives. By keeping our thoughts positive and proactive this powerful stream of energy can be used to bring good things into our lives. So don’t face today with fear but look at it as a day as any other filled with possibilities, it is a powerful day none the less so choose to use the energy wisely! Have a wonderful day and weekend too:-)
It is a magical interval when the mundane laws of time and space are temporarily suspended, and the Thin Veil between the worlds is lifted. Communicating with ancestors and departed loved ones is easy at this time, for they journey through this world on their way to the Summerlands.
Some days you may feel as if you are invisible, that life is going on around you and you aren’t part of it. Remember that at soul level we are all one, all connected to one another. It doesn’t cost anything to make the effort to smile at the person passing by you on the street, to hold the door open for someone or to exchange a few words with the next one in line, or to thank the one who serves you in a shop. You may be the only person who will acknowledge them that day. It is these little touches that make us all feel part of society, part of each other. When we raise the spirits of another, that energy comes back to us magnified, so everyone benefits, if we all did this what a difference it would make to the world. Start today reach out to someone and be the one to make a difference!
Most people achieved their greatest success one step beyond what looked like their greatest failure. - Brian Tracy

Welcome to my circle of friends :-) I look forward to getting to know you. I hope you are having a lovely week my new friend
Walk and touch peace every moment. Walk and touch happiness every moment. Each step brings a fresh breeze. Each step makes a flower bloom. Kiss the Earth with your feet. Bring the Earth your love and happiness. The Earth will be safe when we feel safe in ourselves. ~Thich Nhat Hanh
"You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you."
Hi Kate, i hope you are making good music. I have started a new band at work. It's a jazz combo called 'The Quiet Men.' I was relieved to see the rocker guitarist and the r&b monster guitarist leave, and now we are putting together a new repertoire for a small group which is one guitar, one bass, one keyboard, one flute and one drums.
