As a songwriter I write for acts across a whole host of genres so I am inspired people who can adapt their style and write a song that fits the project. Examples would be writers like Dianne Warren & Cathy Dennis.

Kate Smith is a songwriter and vocalist working for a whole host of top names in music. Kate is currently in the process of recording her debut album, returning to her true roots of infectious folky pop (details can be found on her main myspace page - http://www.myspace.com/katelouisesmith)
A respected writer of many other genres including dance, house, trance, acoustic, alternative, pop and rnb. Kate writes and performs for a variety of established acts and artists and is represented by Notting Hill Music Publishing. Her material is available on many labels including Hed Kandi, Ministry Of Sound, EMI Positiva, Drizzly, Universal, Virgin, Asgard, Sony BMG and many more...
2007 saw Kate release many of her own tracks including the club anthem "Party For the Weekend" which she performed and penned for the ’Soul Seekerz’ a track which was extremely well received by Radio and clubbers alike! The song knocked both Justin Timberlake and Madonna from the top spot when it reached the No 1 position in the UK Club Charts twice over and was subsequently released by Positiva 2007. With remixes from the likes of Stonebridge and the Soulshaker’s in the mix pacakge the track also picked up a storm stateside, with 10 weeks on the US Billboard Dance Chart, peaking at number 5 in the airplay chart.
2008 will see further collaborations with producer Lewis Dene (Solitaire) and New York producer Davidson Ospina. Their new act ’Ny-Lon’ recently released ’When You Love Someone’ (penned and peformed by Kate) through Eyezcream Records. The track has a fabulous remix package from the likes of Parisian boys ’Lifelike’ and newcomer David Rubato. The track has already seen support from Radio One with the Trophy Twins supporting the cause! The DMC predicts an anthem giving the track 5 star status and an ’essential’ listing.
Kate is currently working on a writing songs and providing vocals for Matt Darey’s forthcoming album, due for release later this year. The start of 2008 saw a new single signed for producer Mark Breeze ’Starlight’, written and performed by Kate. Forthcoming releases also include Lost Witness ’Take Me There’ written by Kate is (due for single release on Fektive and featuring on the forthcoming Lost Witness album ’Decade’.)
Kate is also busy penning works for a variety of pop projects for new and established artists and several new artist debut albums.
