   About Katharina Heinrich
singer/soulwriter/jazz vocalist/musician/composer/poet a human concoction between sophisticated sensual jazz diva, tomboyish awkward & quirky Pippi Longstocking and wittily wordy intellectual, she never fails to move, amuse, shock and charm her audiences, wherever she performs. Her understated style betrays her powerful and passionate talent and surprises at second sight & sound, not at first. A singer impossible to forget and a poet to be reckoned with. Although originally German, she mostly writes in English and her ..outsider..s.. approach to the language lends her expression an unusual and intriguing twist. With one of the tracks from her introspective first album ..Somebody.. she secured a permanent place in the jazz genre by being chosen to be featured on the jazz compilation album ..A Rey Jazz... Many successful performances & some life changing experiences later she turns out her second, more gregarious and upbeat Album, with a line up of some of Gloucestershire..s most wanted jazz wizards, Andy Nowak, Jeff Spencer, Matthew Jones and Steve Browning. While BBC Radio Gloucestershire calls it ..a magical Album from juvenile beginning to older, wiser end.. leading papers in her hometown Munich praise her voice as ..kitsch free and refreshingly natural... A regular performer at many of Bristol..s favorite venues such as the Prom, Tantric Jazz and Mr. Wolff..s, she has build up a strong following and manages to fill art centers, café..s and have local pub regulars put down their pints and rants to listen in awe. I have just finished recording her third album "come" with a yummy backing of some awesome musicians, who have since then formed their instrumental Gloucestershire based trio "Future Positive". Here a taste of three tracks of my new album... still looking to be signed...still looking for that gregorious and warm hearted manager to get me the gigs I am too lazy& introvert to get...so, hey , get in touch you producers, managers, labels, and of course anyone who loves jazz... O.k.long time no see. It's August 2008, and I've just spent a month in NYC, where I have had some profound experiences and met some amazing artists, who revealed new styles and approaches and attitudes to me, that have enriched my life a LOT and inspire me no end! Among them is songwriter, guitarist, singer and soundengineer Flezadoza. We kind of recognised a mutual appreciation of soulful chords and songwriting in each others performances which eventually led us to collaborate on a piece I had just written. In only two one day sessions he managed to make this humble guitar track sound truly "awesome" as New Yorkers would say. Like all good & professional musicians and soundengineers, he has intuitive musicality and an eye and patience for detail, as well as the whole.

Hello Katharina,
Im back home from being on the road going to Festivals & camps this summer, connecting with beautiful people & musicians feeling the cosmic energy of festivals.

I have been doing Bodhran workshops at some of the festivals, giving people the inspiration & energy of playing the bodhran, feeding the rhythms of Mother Earth to connect oneself with the bodhran as a channel to find rhythm within oneself. I have had a cosmic expierance of passing on the energy of playing the bodhran to teach & feel the vibration of the drums.

My journey of playing my drums in drum circles around festivals has been an enlightening & cosmic expierance, connecting with other drummers & the vibration of Mother Earth, the Sun & Moon.

My truly highs of my journey has been The Rainbow 2000 Music Camp, The Out of the Ordinary Festival, The Coedhills Equinox Celebrations & Summer Solstice at Avebury Stone Circle. These places & expierances i have had will remain in my heart & spirit deep in my soul forever, eternal in spirit.

MY HEART, SPIRIT & DRUMS

MY HEART FEELS AT ONE WITH MOTHER EARTH
FLOWING WITH LOVE IN MY HEART
MY SPIRIT FEELS AT ONE WITH THE SUN & MOON
FLOWING WITH LIGHT IN MY SPIRIT
MY DRUMS FEELS AT ONE WITH THE RHYTHM
FLOWING WITH BEATS IN MY DRUMS.

Peace & Love Alasdair

This is a video taken at The Out of the Ordinary Festival of me in a drum circle at the Peace Stone Circle, feel the vibes of Mother Earth, Fire, Sun & Moon.

Hello Katharina,

RAINBOW MUSIC CAMP was a Cosmic Expierance of Jammin with musicians & connecting with the Rainbow Tribe of people, feeling as one Tribe with Mother Earth, the Stars, Sun & Moon. Drum Circles round the Fire of Life into the Spirit & Soul of the Heartbeat of Mother Earth up into the Universe of Stars.
I did my first BODHRAN WORKSHOP, it well really well, feeding off the vibes of Rainbow Energy, positively passing on the Spirit of the Bodhran Drum to people, to give them inspiration, confidence, teaching & to develop your own style & sound of playing the Bodhran Drum beating to the Heartbeat of Mother Earth.
Jammed with some awsome musicians on stage & round fire, feeding on the energy of the Food of Life ~ Music, Drums, Mother Earth, The Tribe of Rainbow Warriors, the Stars, Sun & Moon.
DRUMCIRCLES round the Fire, generating the Rainbow Vibe of Life, making people dance & feel the cosmic energy of Mother Earth. I played Drums for the Circle Dance, 5 Rhythms Wave, Trance Dance, Ceilidh Dance, procession & jammin.

The Rainbow Warriors are as One Heartbeat
As One with the Mother Earth of Life
The Spirit of the Drums are as One Drumbeat
As One with the Rainbow Vibe of Life
The Cosmic Expierances are as One Love
As One with the Rainbow Tribe of Life
The Light of the Sun & Moon are as One Universe
As One with the Rainbow Music Camp of Life Eternal.

Peace & Love Alasdair.

Have you ever been stumped in your creativity?
Sir Philip Sidney has the answer in his poem:

Astrophel and Stella:
Sonnet 1

1
Loving in truth, and fain in verse my love to show,
That she dear she might take some pleasure of my pain,
Pleasure might cause her read, reading might make her know,
Knowledge might pity win, and pity grace obtain,
I sought fit words to paint the blackest face of woe:
Studying inventions fine, her wits to entertain,
Oft turning others’ leaves, to see if thence would flow
Some fresh and fruitful showers upon my sunburned brain.
But words came halting forth, wanting Invention’s stay;
Invention, Nature’s child, fled stepdame study’s blows;
And others’ feet still seemed but strangers in my way.
Thus, great with child to speak, and helpless in my throes,
Biting my truant pen, beating myself for spite:
"Fool," said my Muse to me, "look in thy heart, and write."
