With rave reviews in several languages, hundreds of original songs and equal doses class and angst, Katherine Farnham is a brilliant and promising new artist. A consummate musician, she combines a beautiful, haunting voice with a jazz and pop/rock-influenced piano style. She writes prolifically of love, passion, hope, myth and peace with a thoughtful integrity that both illuminates and entertains. Her sound is hypnotic, intoxicating, intense. Katherine has appeared on Good Morning America, NBC 6, Telemundo, "The Viper Room" and "The Mint" in Los Angeles, NASCAR 2011, The AT&T Amphitheatre in Miami, The Hard Rock Cafe, and with Tito Puente Jr. and salsa legend Celia Cruz. Her original tracks have received international radio airplay. She is a grad of Boston's Berklee College of Music. .. .. Katherine's discography includes her critically - acclaimed debut EP "For the Love of it All", the bold, acoustic "Songs from the Troubadour" and the "Mosaic" single. Her latest studio project includes collaborations with several talented producers and Grammy-winning studio professionals in Los Angeles. In 2009, she was chosen from over 4000 artists to appear on the AIM Compilation CD, recently released in Amsterdam. .. .. Katherine grew up in Pennsylvania in a musical family. She wrote her first song at age 5 during a family road trip and performed her first vocal solo the same year. She took piano lessons from her mom, former Director of New England Conservatory's Wellesley Branch. She went pro at 14, singing and playing for local events. An honors student, she won the leading role in her junior high school musical and her hometown's Miss Teen Autumn Leaf Festival crown. "One morning I was home with the flu. Suddenly my mom appeared at the foot of my bed and told me to come to the piano. I thought she was completely out of her mind!" Her hard work and sacrifice paid off and Katherine received a scholarship to the international Tanglewood Young Artists Piano Program. .. .. After rejecting the confining atmosphere of the conservatory, Katherine found the freedom to explore her artistic voice at Boston's acclaimed Berklee College of Music. Soloing with The Gospel Choir, forming her own band and graduating summa cum laude was no small task, but Farnham took it in stride and also won Berklee's Performer Songwriter Competition. Her modest demo tape-turned-EP "For the Love of it All" was released to a full house at The Hard Rock Café. Featuring sensual photos and Katherine's unique blend of jazz, pop and R&B, it garnered several CMJ charts, international radio airplay and a magazine article from a MIDEM journalist that said "She has all the requirements to be one of the top names in American Pop Music." .. .. Katherine's image is an uncanny blend of beautiful woman, seductress and best friend. Her down-to-earth approach and genuine caring for people radiates from her lyrics in "Mother Earth", "Don't You Feel the Pain", "Peace on Earth" and "Mosaic." Fans and friends are inspired by her inner strength and ability to overcome obstacles to be a consistent artistic force. This strength was put to good use as Katherine was asked to bridge inter-culture barriers. One of her songs found its way to the Mayor of Miami, who had begun a city-wide initiative for ethnic unity. After hundreds rose to give her a standing ovation at the Mayor's Mosaic Convention, it became clear that this Midwestern Anglo girl had presented them with Miami's long-awaited Theme Song. Katherine co-produced English and Spanish versions, becoming a beacon of light and sharing her music and vision for a peaceful world. .. .. I am a gal that loves to laugh and meet new people from all over the world. Music and the arts has been a lifelong passion for me. I also love nature, exploration and travel. I believe in the importance of giving back and do charity projects whenever I can. Lately I've been thinking about everything in the news. I have a vision for our world: a place where people can work together in cooperation, without hostility. .. .. I adore fashion, old Hollywood-style glamour, music, and theatre. I like to curl up with my goofy but very cuddly cat Jolie, named for Angelina. Other pleasures are: cafe mochas, Italian food, fine wines, "Friends", talking about philosophy, animals, British lit, traveling to new places, and watching tons of movies. I also make time for goofing around and being just plain silly, which I think is good for your health. I have cried and had break-ups and tough times just like many of you. I'm thankful for my faith, my nutty family and a wonderful group of friends in Los Angeles and around the world for being there and showing their love. LOVE YA SO MUCH! .. .. Sending you my love and kisses and wishing you a beautiful day. Spread the word, join the adventure and hop on board:)... xoxoxox" .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
