Seattle born, Katherine Mez was bound to have a style all her own. Now residing in the infamous Music City, Nashville is now home to the artist. Katherine started singing and performing for audiences from early on, later adding guitar and piano to her vocal talent, Katherine quickly became a power house of singing, song-writing and performing. " I was never willing to compromise, I knew from about the time I was 11 and started performing, not only what wanted to do but exactly how i wanted it done". Katherine attending a performing arts school where she learned to master her craft and started building her name as an up and coming artist. Working and created along side of the most talented of musicians and song writers, Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers, Laurie Wheeler, Charles Meserole and David Zaffiro to name a few. All to create the perfect blend of rock, blues and acoustic soul in which make up Katherine's universal sound. Katherine has often been referred to a "sweet little janis joplin" for her gritty and soulful vocal stylings yet while still having a control that is insurmountable. With influences of Bonnie Raitt, Led Zeppelin, Fiona Apple, Patty Griffin, The Cardigans, Jimi Hendrix, Marc Braussard, Shaun Colvin and Will Hoge, Katherine has the power to fuse beautiful melody with powerful lyrics, creating undeniable talent and songs that leave you weak in the knees.
