MARIA CALLAS: She is one artist that truly sang from the heart. Not content to just stand & sing she was one of the first Opera Singers to really act the role on stage. Her voice (when young) gave me goosebumps.
JOAN SUTHERLAND: She has an amazing technique. She sings with no effort. She helped me so much when I first started my career.
HEATHER BEGG: Australian Mezzo-Soprano. I wish I had half the voice she has. She is not only an amazing singer but boy can she act. She was my mentor.
MAESTRO RICHARD BONYNGE: Without him I would not have been given the opportunity to sing with Dame Joan.

I started my singing career in Perth, Scotland where I won many competitions including the Premiership award at the prestigious Edinburgh Festival and performed throughout Scotland and broadcast regularly on Scottish radio. I studied at The Royal Academy of Music.
After Leaving Scotland and settling in Australia, I won the ABC Young Performers Award and also was a finalist in the New York Metropolitan Opera Competition, going on to become a major principal with the Western Australian Opera Company.
Whilst performing in Il Trovatore with the WA Opera Company, I was spotted by Opera Australia and asked to join the Opera Studio for young principals and as a result became a major princi
I have also performed with all the Major Orchestras throughout Australia in Concert and Oratorios and performed with other major companies such as, The Gilbert & Sullivan Society, University of NSW Opera, The Savoy Arts Company, Rockdale Oper Company, Chatswood Musical Society, and Young Opera
After deciding to call it a day with large scale productions ( I think I needed to find myself again, to rediscover who I am as a person) I coached for a bit then started to dabble in a variety of types of music Including:- Barbershop (Sweet Adelines). I was a member of an award winning quartet called 'Touche' and assistance director and section leader of Circular Keys Chorus, SydneyTown Chorus both in Sydney) and Harmony In Paradise Chorus (Gold Coast, Queensland)
My repertoire includes full programs of Opera, Celtic, Musicals, Broadway and contemporary pop performing to sell out audiences throught Australia.
Whilst all these different times of my life brought me great happiness and personal satisfaction, it is the great lessons it taught me; the realisation of how precious life is and how important are the people we surround ourselves with on a daily basis. It also taught me how important music is and how it can define our lives and our moods. It can delineate the expressions of our very souls and project that image through its delivery; such is how great music is made.
Over the past 2 years I have recorded 4 albums which I really enjoyed doing.
I have also had the pleasure of collaborating with Ali Kessanto from Finland (Cheeky Punster- Vast Days) on his album 'Metatonic" and NazB from Switzerland on his remix track "Black and White"
During my tour of the USA I did a video movie with Acclaimed author and talk show hostess Lee Travathan and a radio interview with Eugene and James of IAD International Radio. I also had the privilege of perform with Eugene Ebner in Denver Colorado
I have experienced many things in my life and my albums are but a snapshot into the world I have seen and the world we can all be a part of if only we would open our hearts and let it in.

If any of you happen to be in Glasgow on the 28th July. We are having a wonderful Burns Benefit concert at The Venue Oran Mor (kevin walsh will be there and chris tait) with fantastic tenor Gari Glaysher, The Skunnered, Composer Paul Stirling Taylor and Mike Ogletree who has just had his Burns tribute CD accepted in the Library of Congress. Compere Keith James King and special guests include Bill Little of Scot Films UK. Possible more performers, including Eilidh Grant and The Trybe.
A night of celebration, many people coming from around the world to show support for our event and a film to be made on the life of Robert Burns.
Tickets are £12, all monies going to the Burns Birthplace museum and Yorkhill Sick Childrens Hospital.
