I love the oldies from the sixties through the eighties; Tom Petty and Journey are my favorites; the powerful love ballads of the eighties; some country and bluegrass. And please look at http://www.jimmeyer-songwriter.com for my brother Jim Meyer's available CDs....listen to my book trailers to hear samples of his music.
Movies
I love well-made science fiction movies and heart-warming family and love stories. I love the best of the horror movies... but the traditional older ones - ghost and vampires and werewolves - without all the blood and gore of the newer slasher kind. Give me a good story and believable characters I can care about before you start the killing. Give me a reason to care about them before they're in danger.
Television
I love old movies from the 40's and 50's...loved Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Charmed...and I love Smallville and Supernatural. I adore all kinds of mystical programs as well as good-hearted stuff like Gilmore Girls. Anything that's written well.
Books
I have no favorites actually or too many to name. I read Stephen King and Dean Koontz but I also read the top-rated mysteries and romances. Time travel. I'm also very partial to well-written ghost, vampire and werewolves stories...and I still write about them myself sometimes.
Heroes
My heroes are anyone in this world that works to make the world a better place. Good cops, good politicians (not many of them around, I tell you) good-hearted people who give of their time and money to help others.

*****************
I began reading Science Fiction (Ray Bradbury and Robert Heinlein), historical romance, mystery (Sherlock Holmes) and traditional horror very young and, a storyteller, I always had stories going around in my head - when I wasn't drawing pictures. I watched Twilight Zone and Spook Spectacular; loved the Waltons (I had a big poor family as well) and after my first child was born, bored silly, I began to write. My first novel, EVIL STALKS THE NIGHT, 1984, was an old-fashioned something evil's in the woods ghost story and I've been writing about vampires, ghosts, supernatural beings and murder mysteries (most with a touch of romance) ever since. I always had to write, I had no choice. It's me, a way of life, second-nature and my greatest passion. I was once a graphic designer (23 years) in the corporate world but now write full time.
Any of the really well-established horror writers of the day...Stephen King or Dean Koontz or, well, just about anyone who's lived the writing life for many years so we could discuss what it's like to hang in there for so many decades. I'd also like to meet Johnny Depp or Helen Mirren....both whom I greatly admire as actors.
