DURING THE TIME I WAS A PSYCHOTHERAPIST I LEARNT AN AWFUL LOT OF CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION, SOME OF WHICH WAS FAR TOO INTERESTING TO REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL. 'THE HOLE IN THE HEDGE' IS A TRUE STORY TOLD TO ME BY MY ONE VERY MISCHIEVOUS BUT CREATIVE CLIENT.
"STRANGERS AND FOREIGNERS" WAS WRITTEN FOR MY 3RD HUSBAND, WHO
WAS A FASCIST AND DIED OF SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION AS A RESULT OF HEARING ME SING THIS SONG. SERVES HIM RIGHT FOR BEING SO HOT UNDER THE COLLAR. THERE IS A LOVELY REGGAE VERSION OF THIS SONG DONE BY AUSTRALIAN BAND "TOTALLY GOURDGEOUS" ON THEIR "TOTALLY GOURDGEOUS" CD. www.myspace.com/totallygourdgeous
"THE CYCLIST FROM HELL" IS THE RESULT OF MANY YEARS OF PRACTICAL RESEARCH WHICH I CONDUCTED WHILE COMMUTING TO MY WORK IN LONDON. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE ACTUALLY .. . . . . . .THE COMBINATION OF ROAD RAGE AND PMS DOES NOT REALLY CONTRIBUTE TO UNIVERSAL HARMONY AND MY FINGERS ARE PERMANENTLY FROZEN IN A CERTAIN POSITION WHICH IS BEST DESCRIBED AS THE PEACE SIGN REVERSED.
"LEAKY UMBRELLAS" WAS CONCEIVED OUTSIDE SAINSBURYS, CAMDEN TOWN ON A REALLY BLEAK, DEPRESSING, LONDON WINTERS DAY AND IS ABOUT THE HUMOUR THAT ARISES FROM THE BLEAKNESS OF LIFE AND THE INEFFECTIVENESS OF OUR DEFENCES AGAINST THE ELEMENTS. THANK GOODNESS ENGLAND IS BLEAK AND DISORGANISED OTHERWISE THERE WOULDN'T BE SO MANY GREAT COMEDY SHOWS.
"POOR DIM SALLY" IS A SONG ABOUT COUSIN SALLY'S DIABOLICAL NAVIGATIONS INTO THE PHILOSOPHICAL QUAGMIRE OF RELIGIOUS PROPAGANDISM AND THE ACQUISITION OF SPIRITUAL AND ONTOLOGICAL PROSPERITY, PRODUCING NEFARIOUS RAMIFICATIONS CONCERNING ECCLESIASTICAL PHENOMENA AND LEADING TO ENLIGHTENMENT THROUGH DIGESTIVE PAROCHIALISM.
VIM VALLEY IS A NEW ZEALAND TERM USED TO DESCRIBE A SUBURB WHERE PEOPLE ARE OBSESSED WITH CLEANLINESS AND WITH NOT EXCEEDING THE BOUNDARIES OF WHAT THEY PERCEIVE TO BE NORMAL.
"THE RIGHT TIME OF YEAR" IS ABOUT THE DIFFICULTIES OF LEAVING RELATIONSHIPS. (SOMETHING THAT I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY BOTHER WITH AS ALL OF MY HUSBANDS HAVE CONVENIENTLY DIED). A MARRIAGE GUIDANCE COUNCELLOR UPON HEARING THIS SONG ANNOUNCED THAT IT WAS VERY TRUE AND COULD BE APPLIED TO 90% OF HER CLIENTS."

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
Ooh, hope we thanked you for xmas cheer. All have been well entrenched in projects. About to get out about again across the wide brown land & more. Hugs , TG
Kath I am blessed that you wanted to hear my music--you made my day. I'm happy for you to have it! Glad to hear the cyclist is no longer terrorizing, though I shudder to think what might be going on in that bus :-)
I've just returned from a long trip and what a wonderful boost it was to read your kind comment! I'm now being energized by "Cyclist From Hell". . .and the laughter is medicine: "Atmosphere recycling machine" complete with sound effects. . . LOL!!!!
