Kathy Marie Redwine Miracle Kathy Marie Redwine Til the Music Stops CMT Music City Madness Competition!
Kathy Marie Redwine is a dreamer. Born and raised in Salem, Oregon, she has always had the influence of country music in her life. Now it is her dream. Though some may believe it to be far-fetched to become one of those famous singer/songwriters on the radio, she has never had a doubt in her mind since the moment she believed she could. Kathy was born on June 22, 1979 as Kathy Marie Sendelbach. She is an average 5 foot 6 inches tall, with blondish/brown hair, freckles, a beautiful smile, and the most reflective green eyes you’ll ever look into.
Music has always been a part of Kathy’s life, whether she was listening to it, playing the flute and piano, or singing in a choir. But in the summer of 1998, she wrote her first song and listened to her heart. She decided that she could become that country singer/songwriter she had always dreamed of if she believed in herself and showed others why they should believe in her. From that moment on, she has been trying to follow that path. In her last three years of college, she wrote numerous songs and put on two or three concerts a year. She also took place in yearly country showdowns and talent shows. She even had a number one hit on her favorite radio station back home, 99.9 KRKT! Her senior year, she made her debut CD, which included six original tracks. Not only was the process fantastic, but she also had the chance to work with some incredible people, including musicians, photographers, graphic artists, and the producer. After all the years of dreaming secretly and in spotlight, she packed up what she learned along the way and drove it 2,500 miles to her new home. And the place she took it to was Nashville, Tennessee. Yes, the time had finally come for the big move every musician will think about at one point or another- Music City, USA.
Kathy has taken some time to get settled in, take care of her daughter, and get familiar with the city, but she finally feels her time is coming. She is a proud member of ASCAP. She has performed at the Blue Bird Café on open mic night and songwriters auditions, the Wildhorse Saloon in an employee showcase, at Opryland Hotel as a floating singer, Dan McGuinness' Pub, The Commodore, The Broken Spoke Songwriter's Cafe, The Hall of Fame Lounge, Hotel Indigo, Café Coco, Nashville Palace, Norm's River Road House, Millenium Maxwell House Hotel, Chick-Fil-A, hOOters (yes!), The Frisky Berry, the Songwriters Festival on Music Row... and many other local places around town. All these experiences have given her good practice up on stage and a feel for being herself in Nashville. Kathy is excited for what may lie ahead of her. She loves writing new songs as more ideas come to mind every day. In fact, she finally plays guitar decent enough on stage, but has focused her passion more on her writing now. This past year, she has written at least a few dozen new songs, and co-written another handful. With her musical background, her life experiences, and her talent, those who believe in this singer/songwriter should have no doubts that something remarkable is going to happen in her future. The whole world will be pleasantly surprised when she is discovered and her music is finally heard through some great artist on the radio...
